Throughout 2024 Professor Andrew Ridley was Chair of the As%)ciaticTrn, Mrs Yuli Doulala-Rigby was VÉce-
Chair ot the Asso¢ia¢ion. Mr Tony Bowemian was Honorary Treasurer, Mr Nicholas Arnistrong was Flonordry

of the Association from Junc 2021 to June 2023, stepped down &% Imme41iate Past Chair it] June 2024. Th¢se

The BGA continued to honour its cornmitmentto supwrting the furthem]eni of th¢ knowledge and education of

made in 2024. In addition the BGA supported irtdustry and academic investigator-led applied g¢oi¢chni¢&l
research throu2h its R¢search tkv¢lopment Fund.
COMMENTS
The BGA continued to monitor the att¢ndan¢es 81 lectures and oth¢r ¢v¢llts throughout 2024, and it seems to
have uow recovered w pre-pandemic level5.
At the c105e of 2024. the BGA had 1479 individual meThbErs and 49 ¢orpgrate members. These are up 185 atld
8 respettively on th¢ numbets at the end of 2011 and thc number of indiNryduai niembeTS has ¢oniinued ts) grow
since 2022. The BGA recognises the im]x)rtanc¢ of aiiracting new, younger members. Al the end of 2024 the
number ofsiudent m¢mbers was 174.
During 2024, il was recognised that as an unitotporated association the BGA 15 not able to enter into contracts
and Tru51¢es of lh¢ Association are personally liable for their action5. in¢luding financial tnatters_ To addres%
this Trustee and Offi¢er's Insurance was put in plac¢ and investi¥ations w¢r¢ started into incoTP)rating the
BGA. This pr￿¢s$ is still ongoing at the cnd of 2024.
