## **PUBLIC BENEFIT STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES & ACTIVITIES**

In setting out the objectives and planning the activities, the trustees have given careful consideration to complying with the duty in Section 4 of the Charities Act 2006 to have regard to the public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. All our projects and services have continued to grow as well as some new, benefiting great many more of the community.

Our primary objective is to provide a safe and up to good standard prayer facility and Islamic education for all.

In keeping with objectives, we continue to develop our facilities for worship, and we provide full facilities for all daily prayer sessions as well as prayers for special occasions in accordance with Islamic faith.

We work towards alleviating poverty, isolation, culture and language barriers in order to improve quality of life. We provide Social culture sports and recreational activities, Religious studies, Marriage ceremonies and Funerals.

We work with leading Islamic Charities by collecting the obligatory and recommended religious donations (Fitra, Zakat and Sadaqat), which were then distributed, to the poor and needy in various parts of the world. Since 2017 we have raised £32484.67.

## **ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE**

Covid-19 affected the services badly but we managed to come through even stronger, thanks to our donors we were able to provide more and more services, which was much appreciated by the worshippers. We also carried out maintenance of the site, which was much appreciated by the local people and worshippers.

Through our welfare fund which was set up during Covid-19 lockdown we have continued to help the poor and vulnerable. So far we have distributed over £5000 We work with NDAS and Northamptonshre Police to support victims of domestic abuse. As well is this we have provided emergency accomodation to homeless members of our community. Provide help and supprt to refugees and asylum seekers.

We have set up a Muslim funeral service as well as a monthly funeral plan. We worked with the Borough Council of Wellingborough and succeeded in change in burial policy to facilitate Shrouded burial according to Islamic requirements .

Islah Ul Muslimeen is now registered with HM Revenue and customs (HMRC) to get tax back on Gift Aid on your donations. This has helped with the expenditure.

We have set up a new muslim programme, which provides guiadance and islamic education to newly converted Muslims.

Our prime focus continues to be promoting knowledge and providing much needed services, within its scope of operation, to all the communities. Our Open-door Open-mind policy has produced many enquiries and has resulted in numerous Mosque visits by local Schools and other groups. Various fundraising and cultural events took place during the year, in line with inter-faith and community cohesion work.
