The British Institute of Organ Studies (BIOS) exists to encourage and promote the study of the pipe organ, its history and design, and to increase appreciation and understanding of its music by both organists and the general public. The society serves effectively as the amenity society for the British organ and lobbies Governmentand other national bodies on behalf of the instrument.

Objects: To Advance The Education Of The Public In And Promote The Study Of And Research Into The Development Of The Organ And Its Music In All Aspects And, In Particular The Development Of The Organ And Its Music In Britain And To Publish The Useful Results Of Any Research. To Promote The Preservation And Restoration Of Historic Organs In Britain For The Benefit Of The Public Generally.
