**Activities:** To protect and enhance the visual and historic environment and setting of the town of Rye and its surrounding area, to improve the quality of life for residents, visitors, businesses and their employees, to stimulate public interest in the area, promote high standards of planning and architecture and secure the preservation, development and improvement of features of historic or public interest.
