3.1 Remuneration and pay of staff

investment decisions. The Trustecs do not consider it ippropriate. to impose any ethical cottstraints on investmetlts

Over the yeAr the gait)s from financial investments averaged 4.1 /0 with income yield8 of 1.7 /0 overall. The
perEoMRnce of each porrfolio is subject to rigorous 2nd rcgulxr review. InN-estrnent5 are s'alutd on a quarterly basis

Reserves policy
The 'Reserves 1)olicy' for ihe 'Gener21 Fund, is est2blished by the Trustee5 of the Society, reviewed annually and is

The Audit 2nd Risk Commiitee met four times during the ycar. The Audii and Risk Committee aided the Society in
assessing its exposure and Jnforming of strategic risk mxnzgement.

14. Flnancial p•rformance
The Society is going through a straicgic reSt￿ctUre. The Society hRd enteted into a ptomotion agreement to sell the
showground. The.%ocicry no longer recesve a licence Fee and the profit from Showgtuund S£Lvices Ltd as a deed or
¢oven2ni. Howevet, the prornotion agreement expired in March 2025 and the planning to Sell the showground ha5
S￿nce been declined.
2025 has been anothet transitsvn ye%r between losing rnany OE the income streaTrb Irum operating 2 showground aftd
receiving the capital procetds From phase one of the land sale. The operallonal cash for the year has increased to

Income resources from generating funds continue5 to reduce. £447k. (2024.. £5171 This 15 madc up of the £301k of
site rentals, £145k of inve%tment income and £lk DI donation4.
The Society has financi21 investments which were valued at £5,636k at the )Tear end. There have been £229k of
inv¢stment %ains xnd £94k OF inve5ttnent income in the y¢ar. The investment income hAs been reirxve5ted. The
Society has cash deposits that have generated £51k OE bank interest.
The Society Trustee5 have 3greed to continue Thith their programme of charitable activities during this transiuon
period. After xlloc#tion ol overheads (see note 2b on page 25) the total net expendj.ture by the Sociery on its

Estab]ished during 2001 by a It￿cY Irom Nfr M K Papworth (see note 12 on page 321 the conditions of the Marshal
Pxpworth Fund are to help educare agricultural 2nd horticultural students from developing cDuntrie5. In the 25 }rears
since the Fund WAS formed, it has now empowered over 272 students Etom devcloping countrie5 to receive further
education And 50 help their home communities.

In 2025 the Scholars Tjrogramme received I l applications over thret appliiation %widtsw¥ (FebTU*ry, June 2nd
September) and awatded funding to 5 successful canth"dates, pl¢dy"ng £14,050 in funding.
In 2025 the Scholars Programme supported intemAtionx] study opportunitie5 ￿4th trips to the Illtetnation￿ Sheep
Vet Congress IA Ivollongong, Australia, the SASK Soil Conlerence in Saskatchewan, Catlada and the It]ternauonaE

Regional Show and Society
-Fhe Nlust I lunc)utAble, the late larquess OE Exeter, KCMG., LL.D.. wa% President ol the Peterborough Agricultural
Society in 1967 and chaired meerings that led to the formation of rhe East OF England %how in Octnber 1967. The
f￿st Show (orEinised by representatives from individual neighbouring sotieties) was held in July 1968.
The England AgTiiultural Suciety, was formed in 1970 bj a mL'rger of the Cambrid8,cshirc & l%le of F'ly118631,
Huntingdonshirc11837) and Pcterborou8h (1797) Ilgricultu￿1 Societies. .loit]ed in 1971 by Bedfordslijre Agricultural
Soueti-11801) and in 1972 by Nortliamptonshire Agricultural Socieiy (1848). -rhe Long Suiton & District Society
(1837) rernains independent 2nd is affi￿ated lor Show putposes only.
The Society moved to its present Slte, which now extend5 to 22() 2cres, in 1966. The 10th E#tl Fitzwilliam provided
iIivaluable absislance with the sale of the old Lx%tfJeld site and ￿1th the nexotsations surrounding the Asgembly of land
For d]e rcplacemenr %ite it Alwxlton. The F.arl madc 40 acres available at a peppercorn rer]t and on his death Countess
Fit7Mlliitn generou51y donated this land io the Society.. A Further 53 acres ol land t5 held on a long lea%e the
