The Gordon Robinson Trust was foundÈd in 1977 as a tsibLrte to the late Gordon Robinson, himse￿ a founder member of
the Northampton Schools Orchestra's Association.
Founder trustees were all key players in establishing
Northamplonshire's n4Jw highly iegardeil music education provision and ensemble opportunibos.

The Gordon Robinson Twsl now provides Fe11¢y￿h1ps. Specialty Awards. BU￿arleS and Subsidies lo individual yDung
people partioipaling in the activities of Norlhamptonshirg Musrc and Perfoming Arts Trust, as well as supporting NMPAT
project delivery.
The charitable trust has provid6d 8wards, grants and scholarships tolalling £51.725 {2023 - £38,620). It has also paid
£60.000 lo NMPAT to support new prtsi&cts.

The Iru$tee5 have had due regard lo the Charity Commission'5 public benefit guidance when making decision8
re98rding the granting of aWa￿S and prizes. It 15 olear 1hal by directly supporting young musiaans in ihis manner, the
Goidon Robinson Mornori81 Trust makes a considerable and very positive diffèrenc￿ lo individual lives of children and
young people wtthin the county, enabling them to devèjop their musical ski115 to theiT fulle81 potential. This increases
their perfomianca skills and confidence which they Mll carry wth them into adufthood.

enabling NMPAT project delivery.
Fellowship Awards are m8de annualty on the basis of competikn"v& auditions and publK ￿cit￿lS by final year NMPAT
students, nominated by NMPAT departments. Two instrumental wnners and fNe finalists receive awards made in the
namo of Nigel Cobb. Two vocal Mrinners and four finalists receive awards in thè n8ffle of Derek Needle and the fortngr
Kingsley Singers. Recitals are usually Scheduled foi September and October. taking place in Mount Pleasant Baptist
Churrh, Northampton.
Speciality Award5 818 rnade to member5 of NMPAT County Groups. who have made an outslandlng contribution lo
Ihe6e ensembles. Young playèrs are nominated by NMPAT and recognis& the achievements ol our most outstauding
students. Thè SpeC￿lIty Awards recognise specthc instrumènts, and many 8¥e given by. or in the name of, individuals
and supported by donations, admin15tered by the Gordon Robinson Trust.
RegIon￿l Centre Awards are presented to members of NMPATS 9 regional Music and Arts Cenlres, norninated by
Centre Heads. aCkno%￿adgIng the young persons, contributions lo th¢ir Centre. Recipients are usually acknowled9ed at
Youth in Concert al Derngale, in November and wesented to wthin their local Centre setting.
BurBary Awards are granted annually and support the tuition of some of the most talented 8nd promising young
musici8n8 in the county.. by covering some ol the costs of individual lessons, to allow for specialist tuitson outside school
hours. Additionally.. some bursaries are provided for those in finanaal need, in the fam of remission of fres for school
lessons.. and for membershlp Subscriptions.

The Gordon Robinson Memorfal TNsf provides gr8nt support enabling NMPAT project delivery. Ongoing support wa$
granted contribution lo support NMPAT'S Musical In¢lu8ion programrne lead. delw¢iing vjith and foi children and young
poople In challenging circumstances, and lo support Y-Nols Art Cèntre for student5 wilh Special Educational NeedB.
Giant support also en8bl&d the County YDtFlh Ofchestra and County Youth Ghoir lo undertake a concert tour in Spain, in
the Summer of2024.
