Annual Report AGM 20-21
After such a long and challenging period, I think we should be very proud that we have been able to operate throughout a pandemic and despite all the difficulties we have made it to another academic year. Something that at times didn’t seem possible.
We have been fortunate that there has been financial aid such as the Job Retention Scheme and Covid Grants. Without these we would not be open today. We were also very grateful to benefit from several fundraising donations that have enabled us to provide equipment and renew our fire alarm system.
The staff have been amazing, and as usual have adapted and developed to the unique circumstances faced. It’s wonderful to watch the support and care children attending have received throughout this difficult period.
During this academic year we have seen the return of Ofsted for our Interim Visit and our Inspection. Staff were delighted to finally have the chance to show Ofsted how great Buddies is. The Inspection went well, and the setting received a good outcome. Huge thanks to the staff team for bearing through the rough times and showing Buddies true value.
Kirsty achieved her BA Honours with a first! Such an amazing achievement, especially when you consider all that she has been through since the beginning of her studies. The crazy passionate lady that she is, she has now enrolled on a Master of Education degree! You are superb Kirsty, and we wish you all the luck in the world.
Whilst we are still negotiating the ongoing pandemic and the financial impacts, we are excited for the new academic year ahead. As always it is the fabulous staff team and families that make Buddies such a lovely setting – full of appreciation and wonder we head into a new year.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Buddies over the years and who continue to do so – you really are appreciated!
