by tllaiiy people from the UK and elseivhere. During the course, and at the invitation of Lama Jgmpa Thayt, the Cenire was honoured
by a visit from His Holiness 8akya Gongtna TTichen who gave teachings to the course participants a5 Well a5 a nufftber of other
attendee5 including members of other Buddhist centres in the region.

Charitable xctivities
The Tru51 continu¢5 to own its retreat ccntrc in France, Sakya Changlochen Lirt& which wntinues to provide facilities for retreats
and Buddhist ieachings in accordan¢t ivith its objectives.
Onct again, the ennual two-wcek reireat ￿ Sakya Changlochcn Ling was held there in the summer, attracting many people from the
UK. Europe and the Amcricas to leam more about the deeper Buddhist ieathTng5 and lo join in retreat together. As mentioned
elsewhert the Cenire was honoured by a visit from Hi5 Floliness Sakya Gongma Trichcn d￿rIng the fortnight evenl.
The tentre a]so continued 10 provide facilities foT $tnall¢r group retreats and for individual reircats by people wanting 10 d¢¢ptn their
meditation practice.

relied on appealg to member4 5uppletnented by borrowings from tinanci81 instiNtions 10 covet any shortfall on appeal fund5 raised.
Reserves policy
A8 a maller of policy. the Trustees intend to hold th¢ fjrnount of unrestricted reserves held in cash and equivaiertls 21 the level of
approximately 3 months, regular expenditure. The board considers the charity's exposu￿ to the risk of any significant lo￿ of income
ond to the risk of unforeseen expenditure, which rannot be tnitigat¢d by executive action, 2nd on this basis will decide wh¢iher the
amount of assets held ￿ unrestricted cash reserves should bt increased or detreased.

The Trust plans to build a stupa in the grounds of Sakya Changlochell Ling and, towards this end, it ha5 5¢t a5idE funds frotn a legacy
and from some Substantial donations. received in prtvieus yeas.. An appeal will be raised in due cours¢ 10 &55lSt with the balance
required for this project.
The Trust will continue 10 organize teachings and ￿treatS at Sakya Changlochen Lin& with the next $UEnTr¢r rovrs¢ planntd for
August 2024,
