Lunch was provided alter the recollection to feed the body as well as the soul and give Cheshire residents an opportunily lo soti2lisè and neiwork with èach other. Ther$ were also nK)nlhly rècolloctions for diocesan priests who appreelale the spiritual enrichment and soclal Contact with each other. As with the wom8n's récollections, they have lunch logelhef and are given the opportunrty lo socialise, support each other and loluin lo their horr£s renewed and iiivigoraled. Residentlal covrsÈs continuèd throughout the year for local people as well as those from other p3rts of the ¢ounlry and some visitors frtsm èbroad lasting one to three weeks. Whi18 on thsii ¢ourses, residents look adv8ntage ol the local area and visi18d vaiious touti5t atlrèctions and appre¢k?led what Cheshirè has to offer. To celebrate the coronttlion ol King Chartes. wé hèld 8 coronation picnic in May, whiGh was very Popular. As with al our events, local families and others from neighbouring boroughs gol together and found a welcoming place for families lo connect with each other. Frotll Jun¥ to Seplemb$r wo hosted monthly family picnics and a fambly evant to help famil8 Ilnd a supportlV6 open space where they could sociali59 wthh other families and build up family bonds. Thèsè events were all Iree ol charge and were very well attendod. People appreeia16d the opportunity lo spend tin in the beautiful garden8 and rolax in th6 Cheshire countryside. We were visiied by about 30 of Cheshire'5 Wl in the summèr who onjoyed afternoon tea whlle listèning lo two guest speakeis ne speaklhg on the history of Thomycroft Hall and the other on Ihe hlslory of Slddinglon. Th8y thoroughly enjoyed the aftérnoon and would like il to be repealed for them. At the end ol September we had another mother and daughter 0-daY workshop whl¢h h8s been very popular ovgl prèvlous yéars and was requested again. In October, a w0$0p for men was held and was altefjded by ov?r 30 pèople. Thèy lound il veiy educational and appTecialed the opportunity lo connect with each other arKI exchange Idg95. On 10th De¢8mbèr had Dr Christmas Carol Con¢ert with mullod wine and mln¢e plés. This yèar was particularly well attended with about 70 peoplè inoluding many famili85, 91 whom had travelled a good distance to be Ihere. January and February saw the resumption of relreal8 and recollecttons and in March another mlni rstr881 was hèld loi ladies for two nlghts. Maintenance and refurbishment ol Thornycroft continued w¢Lh repla¢ement ol windows in the classroom, palnting, xlensive necgssary roof repalr5 and othèr sm8llr repairs.
