Auditor's responsibilities for Ihe audit of the financial statements
Our objectives are to obtain reasonable assurance about whether Ihe financial statements as a whole are free from
material misstatement, whether due lo fraud or error. and to issue an auditor's report Ihal includes our opinion.
Reasonable as5urallce is a high level of assurance, but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in accordance with
ISAS IUKI will always delecl a material misstatement when il exists. Misslalemenls can arise from fraud or error and ale
considered material if. individualty or in the aggregate, they could reasonably be expected lo Influen￿ the economic
decisions of users taken on the basis of these financial stalemenls.
Irregularities, including fraud, are instances of non-compliance with laws and regulations. We design procedures in line
with our responsibililies, outlined above, to delect material misslalements in respect ol irregularities. including fraud.
Our approach lo identifying and assessing the iisks of material misslatemenl in respect of irregularities, including fraud
and non-compliance with laws and regulations. was as follows..
+ The engagemenl partner ensured that the engagement team collectively had the appropriate competence.
capabilities and skills lo identify or recognise non-complian￿ with applicable laws and regulations.,
We identified the laws and regulations applicable to the charity through discussions with management and from our
knowledge and experience of the chatity secloi,.
We focused on specific laws and regulations which we considered may have a direct material effect on the financial
stalemenls or the activities of Ihe charity. These included bul were not limited to the Companies Act 2006., the
Charities Act 2011.. and Accounting and Reporting by CharS1ies'. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable
to charities preparing their accounts in accordan￿ with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable lo the United
Kingdom and Republic of Ireland (FRS 102)., and
We assessed the exlent of compliance with laws and regulations identified above my making enquiries of

Assessed whether judgements and assumptions made in determining the awounling estimates were indicalive of

There are inherent limitations in our audit procedures described above. The more removed that laws and regulations
are from financial Iransaclions, the less likely it is that we woulcl become aware of non-compliance. Auditing standards
also limit the audit procedures required to identify n￿-cOMpliance with laws and regulations lo enquiry of the trustees
and management and the inspection of regulatory and legal correspondence, if any.
Malerrdl fflisslalements that aiise due lo fraud can be harder lo delect than those that arise from error as they may
