Objectives and activities:

The Trustees are authorised under a Deed of Covenant dated 4[th] April 1989 to distribute the funds received, to persons or organisations either registered as legally charitable under the laws of England or are so regarded in the eyes of the trustees, whilst having regard each time that public benefit nationally and/or internationally has been satisfied. Among the objectives of the Trust, reflected in the accompanying accounts, are the extension of evangelism on a worldwide basis to assist the development of the Christian faith, including the translation of the Bible, distribution and sharing of the Bible, ministerial training, and Christian broadcasting.

As the founder’s estate was finally wound up, the Trust received an additional £51,863.88 in final settlement, the majority of which was invested within the current portfolio.

Achievements and performance:

The Trustees had received satisfactory reports from all recipients of grants made during the financial period 2020/21.

After due consideration of all appeals received, the Trustees were able make ten grants totalling £33,400 during the period of this report for Christian work in the UK and overseas.

These grants will support UK registered charity appeals for the proclamation of the Christian faith through literacy, training, translation, logistics and media, both within the UK and overseas. The Trustees satisfied themselves that the funds they granted were to be used in accordance with the beneficial purpose for which they were requested. The grants are listed in the financial summary that follows.

Structure, Governance and Management:

During February 2022 Mr Paul Baker, on reaching his 90[th] year, retired as a Trustee leaving the existing four Trustees to preserve the ethos, structure, governance, and management of the Trust.

Future income for the trust will be derived from income received from the investment portfolio now completed, perpetuating the founder’s wish.

TRUSTEES REPORT for the period ended 5[th] April 2022 continued………

Now that the financial position of the Trust is secured, those making appeals to the Trust should be aware that the trustees will meet once a year in January or February, to make grants. Any appropriate appeals received before December 31[st] will be held on file for the annual grant meeting. This is so that annual income can be maximised to the benefit of successful applicants.

The Independent Examlners report to the Trustees of the LINGWOOD CHARITABLE TRUST You have asked me to carry out an independent examinatlon of the accounts of the Trustfor the th year ended 5 April 2022.1 have agreed to do so. I do not require a fee or any other recompense. Responsibilities and basls of the report. As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirernents of the Charities Act 2011 ( "the ACV). I report in respect of my examination of the Trusvs accounts carried out under Section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 14515)b of the Act. Independent Examlners Statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect :_ l. Accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act: or 2. The accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
