The Bible League Trust
REGISTERED CHARITY 281867
Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ended 31 December 2025
The Bible League was instituted on 3 May 1892 to promote the reverent study of the Holy Scriptures and to resist the varied attacks upon their inspiration, infallibility and sole sufficiency as the Word of God.
The Bible League trust deed was drawn up on 8 January 1981 and registered by the Charity Commissioner in April 1981.
In 2025 the trustees were: -
Neil Pfeiffer (chairman) John P Thackway (editor of the Quarterly) David Butler John Hooper Aaron Lewis Pooyan Mehrshahi Jonathan Munday Stephen A Toms Daniel Tribe
The secretarial and financial administrator for 2025 was Miss Chloe Sadler. The registered address for the charity remains at 30 Neville Close, Salisbury, SP1 3EH.
The funds of the Bible League were deposited with Co-operative Bank, PO Box 250, Delf House, Southway, Skelmersdale WN8 6WT; Scottish Widows Bank, PO Box 883, Leeds LS1 9TY; Cambridge & Counties Bank Ltd, Charnwood Court, 5B New Walk, Leicester LE1 6TE and Kingdom Bank, Media House, Padge Road, Beeston, Nottingham NG9 2RS. The account with Kingdom Bank was closed on 04/08/2025. An online payment facility via PayPal is linked to the Bible League’s website: www.bibleleaguetrust.org. A card payment account with SumUp was opened in 2025 for use with contactless card terminals for donations and sales of literature.
No trustee received any remuneration from the Trust, except John Thackway for his work as editor of the Quarterly, in accordance with the Trust Deed. Chloe Sadler provided her administrative services as a selfemployed individual, and invoiced the Bible League monthly for her work. Employers’ insurance and trustees’ indemnity was with Kingdom Bank, Nottingham.
To fulfil the aims of the Bible League, four issues of the Quarterly magazine were published in January, April, July, and October, which continue to teach the Word of God and address the spiritual departure from its truth. The subscription rate remained at £10 per annum in the UK and £15 for those posted overseas. Some of the Bible League’s resources continue to be used to subsidise the Quarterly. On average, 720 copies of each issue were circulated. During the year, 41 new names were added to the mailing list of the Quarterly.
A large clothbound new book, “It is Written”, was published, as well as a reprint of the booklet “Archaic or Accurate?”. Articles from the Quarterly and past issues were posted on the Bible League’s website, and it was made available as an e-magazine for a subscription of £5. Literature produced in previous years continued to be sold, via the website and at Bible League meetings.
Eight public meetings for the Bible League were held during 2025: in Holywell, Great Baddow, Wattisham, Swansea, Hethersett, Salisbury, Barnstaple and Glasgow, taken by trustees of the Bible League.
To comply with Data Protection Regulations, all new subscribers to the Quarterly were sent a consent form to complete, to give their permission for the Bible League to contact them about aspects of the work, in addition to what is put in the magazine. Cyber insurance was added to the charity’s existing policy to better protect against losses from cyber attacks. At their AGM held on 31[st] March 2025, the trustees reviewed the financial position of the Bible League, and discussed the appropriate use of its funds. The trustees also met on 3[rd] November 2025 to discuss Bible League business and to receive updates from the editor and administrator.
