TRUSTEES & RESPONSIBILITIES OF TRUSTEES
The Trustees of Islington and Finsbury Youth Club present this report covering the period from 1 October 2022 to 30 September 2023, marking the charity’s final year of operation. This report outlines the activities undertaken, with a particular focus on the restoration and repair of the charity's premises, as well as the financial performance and considerations leading to the closure of the charity.

OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES
The primary objectives of Islington and Finsbury Youth Club during its final year were:

To ensure the premises is restored and repaired, leaving it in a safe and functional condition for future use by the City and Islington College.

To responsibly manage the winding down of the charity's operations.
: In line with these objectives, the charity focused on the following activity
- Restoration and Repair of Premises : Undertook extensive works to dismantle remove and dispose of all gym equipment including four boxing rings.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
The charity’s total income for the reporting period was £29,985, derived from:
- Early surrender of Lease : £29,985
Total expenditure during this period was £29.440, with significant spending made in the following areas:

Premises Clearance and Repairs : £29,000

Administrative Costs and Donations : £441
As of 30 September 2023, the remaining reserves stand at £890. These funds will be allocated to any remaining charity commitments.
GOVERNANCE AND COMPLIANCE
The Trustees held one meeting during the reporting period, focusing on:

Approving the restoration and repair plan for the premises.

Overseeing the responsible closure of operations.

Ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements
The Trustees confirm that all activities, including the restoration work and final operations, were conducted in full compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. Key compliance activity included:
- Communicating with stakeholders, including participants and donors, about the closure.
RESTORATION AND REPAIR OF PREMISES
The restoration and repair of Islington and Finsbury Youth Club premises were a major focus during this final year.
Key repairs included:
Waste Clearance : Dismantling, removal and disposal of gym equipment including four rings.
Decorating : Interior and exterior restoration to meet required standard.
Floor Sanding : Fixing and filling loose and broken wood floors.
Bathroom : Works to the bathroom and changing areas.
These efforts were undertaken to leave the premises in a condition that was approved by the Landlord, the funds to carry out the work came by as a result of the landlord proposing a payment to Islington and Finsbury Youth Club for early surrender of the lease.
LEGACY AND FUTURE PLANS
Throughout its years of operation, Islington and Finsbury Youth Club has:

Positively affected the lives of hundreds of young people by helping to keep them of the streets through its boxing programs.

Played a key role in promoting physical fitness and community engagement in Islington and the surrounding neighbourhood.

Helped boys and girls who had been in gangs, children with disabilities and ADHD to gain confidence and make friends coming to the club.
The Trustees have taken steps to ensure that the charity meets its obligations:
Finalising the transition of the premises back to the property owner.

Potentially donating remaining equipment and resources to other community groups.

Completing the legal obligations of closing the charity.
CONCLUSION
- As Islington and Finsbury Youth Club concludes its operations, the Trustees would like to express deep gratitude to all donors, volunteers, community partners, and the youth participants who made this journey possible.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 30/09/2023 .
Responsibilities and basis As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation of of report the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. Independent examiner's I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have statement come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or the accounts do not accord with the accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
