The Trustees are please to W￿nt their annual report wth ihe financial accounts of the charity for the year
ended 5th April 2024.
Objects and Organisatlon
The charty was established by Trust Deed dated 24th June 1980 and is registered wilh the Chanty Commiss￿.
Its objects are lo advance the Christian religion and lo relEve povety by means tsf..
lal assisting in the mainlenance of the Falconer Home and Orphanage in ZambB.' and
(bl makin9 grants to other charitable children's homes and orphanage5.
The trustees organise specifi¢ support to the Falconer Home. Zambia, and this falls into three main categories..
(11 sending out parcels of clothing, dried goods and medicines.,
(21 forwarding gifls of money for the lor21 needs of the home", and
(3) helping with projecls lo the home's immediate and long tem development
Review of Activi￿eS
Neil Starfing continues to WOTk as Manager of the Trust, attending to all administrative matters, giving presentations
at various churches, schijols and other groups, liaising with staff at the Falconer Home, dealing wilh wath.cal
matters.
Following Ihe resignation of Ken Webb and Richard Hindley from the Board of Trustees last yèar, the Trustees are
acuvely seeking new members for the board, and are in discussions wlh Interested parties. Dun¢an and Susan
Stsnslield have agreed in principle to lake on the role, and formalities should be completed imminently.
Two large consignments of parce15 were sent lo the Falconer Home. Containing ¢lothes, blankets, tol￿trIes,
stallonery. tools and toys. It is no longer possible lo send nCn-per￿hab1e foods, because of the reStn.¢tK￿S placed
on them by the Zambian authori￿$.
The Trustees once again express their Ihanks to Brian and Margaret Nash, who conts'nu8 to give valuable service
as volunteers in the unl[ overseeing packing of boxes of donated 9￿d$, and generally keeping the warehouse
in gc(#J ¢yder. They also support the work of the Trust in many othei ways. for which the Trustees are very grateful.
In June 2023. Neil Stading and D8nnis Webb visited the Falconer Home, Ihis was the first visit since the COVID
palldemic. During the visit they were able to assist with practical tasks such as gelling the new genefalor running.
establishing an electrical supply in the main house and pumping nver waters into the water lowers tc provide a
supply of runnlng water al the Home. They also held discussions wilh the Home's Director, Simon S8mutala, and
olher staff, regardin9 matters concerning the future of the Home, and the nature of the support which the Trust will
be able to offer in the fuluff. Of particular concem was the matter of sending parcels to the Home, which is
becoming increasin9ly difficult due to the increasing cosL and the more complex customs process.
Building work on accommodakn'on for the Children contirsu8S. With a girls, dormit￿. an ablutson block and a kitchen
building all in progress.

As with any charity relying on voluntary donations, there is a risk of incoming ￿sOUrCeS goirKJ astray in the
tost. Developm8nt of sound administrati¥e systems ensure that this risk is minimised.

Financial Risks
The charity continues to be subiecl to the risk of over reliance on unsolicited revenue from donations, appeals
and the general generosity of people. By aiming to make the home in Zambia more self-financing. Ihrough
farming and other projects the risk lo the home will be minimised Continuing to seek govemment funding for
rtain projects also minimises thi5 risk.

the assets of the charity and hence for tsking reasonable sleps for thè p￿VentIon and detection of fraud and

My examination was camed out in accordance wth general direth.ons given by the Chanty Commlsslon.
An examinabon includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparision of the
accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusal items or disclosures
in the accounts and seeking explanations trom the trustees concerning such matters. The procedures
undertaken do not provKle all the evidence that would be required ina n audi( and consequenlty no opinion
is given as to whether the accounts present 8 'true and faiv view and the report limited lo those matters
sel out in the statement beknv.

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come lo my attention in
