## Review of the year

With the ongoing impact of the global COVID pandemic during 2022 it has once again been a tough year for fundraising. The majority of our regular face to face fundraising events were not able to take place. We have changed our raffle and quiz fundraisers to online. We did however hold a summer activity afternoon in the Primary School which raised £237 and a Tombola event at the end of the Autumn term which raised £760.

Total income for 2022 was £25,347 which was lower than the £ 28,965 income level achieved for 2021. However we were once again very fortunate to receive a large donation of £20,000. This generous donation accounted for most of the year’s income. The balance of donated income received came from other

Individuals or organisations and donations via our charity account with PayPal Giving Fund.

We did however continue when we were able to raise money via our secondhand clothes collection. This year we raised £111. We also continued to receive donations via the Amazon Smile charity which amounted to £249 for 2022. A sum of £1815 was received from Just Giving via donations or sponsored events.

This year total expenditure was also much lower at £1,439 and was spent on resources for the swimming pool and some Primary and Secondary PE Inter School competition kit.

School projects needing funding have currently been put on hold pending the completion of the new Secondary and FE (Further Education) building. An idea of projects that Friends of Freemantles can contribute to will be clearer when the works have been finalised. At the time of writing the building works are expected to be completed during the latter months of 2023. In the interim period a large proportion of available funds have been moved to an interest earning account.

Throughout the year many parents and extended family members donated money or raised money through sponsored events which continue to be gratefully received.

On behalf of the Board
