## **2 Structure, governance & management** 

## **2.1 Type of governing document** 

The club is constituted as an Unincorporated Association and governed by its constitution adopted on 21[st] March 1973 as amended on 29[th] April 2021.

## **2.2 Charitable objectives (objects)** 

_The charity’s objects (“objects”) are:_ 

- ➢ To advance the education of young members of the public at large in their knowledge of agriculture, crafts, life skills, rural affairs and country life. 

- ➢ In the interests of the social welfare of such members to provide and promote the provision of facilities for recreation and other leisure time occupations, being facilities which will improve their conditions of life and will assist in the development of their spiritual and mental capacities, self-reliance and individual responsibility so that they may grow to full maturity as individuals and members of the community. 

## **2.3 Trustee selection methods** 

There must be at least three charity trustees.  In accordance with the Constitution, Trustees are appointed or re-appointed at a properly convened Annual General Meeting of the club members. In appointing Trustees due consideration is given to ensuring that the Trustees have, between them, the skills and experience necessary to manage the charity effectively and in accordance with charity law. 

## **3 Activities** 

## **3.1 Statutory declaration** 

The Trustees confirm that they have paid due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit in deciding what activities the charity should undertake. 

## **4 Achievements & performance** 

## **4.1 Outputs and outcomes for the charity’s beneficiaries** 

2025 saw the club celebrate its 75[th] anniversary. Membership of 70 remains consistent with previous years and there is a varied range of weekly meetings for the senior club who meet on a Wednesday evening and the juniors who meet on the first Friday of the month. The 75[th] anniversary ball was an evening to celebrate the club with many ex-members attending while looking forward to the future of the members and the club. A special thank you to our 


sponsors; PC Channer Farms Ltd, Bucks Buildings Ltd, Kubota (UK) Ltd, Agrii and Mason Grab Hire in supporting both the 75[th] year celebrations and this year’s club tops for the Country show. 


PRYFC hosted the 2025 Buckinghamshire Country show, organised by a committee of thirty-three advisory, club members and supporters and kindly hosted by Lord Carrington at Manor Farm, Bledlow. A successful and enjoyable day enabling young farmers to learn 

new skills, show their talents along with publicising

young farmers to the public. The club successfully won its home rally, making it the fourth year in a row. 


Members remain active at County and National with several members representing the club and Buckinghamshire by competing at South East Area Spring Competitions achieving a first in football, second in netball and winning the After Dinner Speaking competition to the compete at National finals. 

The junior Tug of War team came second at South East Area Summer Competition while the men’s came first and competed at National the Tenbury show coming joint fifth. 


At National, a Princes Risborough member, James Nixey was elected NFYFC Chair of Council being the first Buckinghamshire FYFC member to 


become NFYFC chair and Sam Smith has been shortlisted in Entrepreneur of the Year 2025. 

In April the club visited Landrake Young Farmers in Cornwall for a club exchange and look forward to hosting when they visit in September. 

PRYFC continues to invest in members with seven members benefiting from the £150 CV enhancing grant. Four junior members completing a Lantra Tractor Driving 13-15 years old course, two members claimed it against the costs to pass their driving test and one for a telehandler course. 


## **How the public have benefitted** 

The charity recruits its members from the area surrounding Princes Risborough. Anyone aged 10 to 28 years can be a member of PRYFC to participate in activities and discussions that increase their knowledge of agriculture, crafts, rural affairs and country life. 

Following the success of its first tractor run the 2024 Christmas charity tractor run had 300 tractors and commercial vehicles following a route through Thame, Chinnor, Princes Risborough, Longwick and Haddenham. With a wide community of volunteers to support holding the events the club thanks all involved including the sponsor K&A Scaffolding, Kingshills Estate Agent and Zurn Garford LLP. The event raised £15k split equally between Rennie Grove Peace Hospice and PACE who support children with neurological conditions like cerebral palsy. 



The annual Christmas tree collection 

saw over 700 Christmas trees collected raising £6.9k for PACE. Adding the proceeds from the 75[th] anniversary ball raffle, the club increased this amount to be able to present £8.2k to PACE. This continues the club’s charitable activities having raised £44.7k over the last four years for Rennie Grove Peace Hospice £24.4k, RABI £4.6k and £15.7k for PACE. 

The club also supported Lopemead Farm with Open Farm Sunday.

## **5 Financial review** 

## **5.1** 

## **Policy on reserves** 

The charity’s policy on reserves is to generate and maintain a reserve which will allow sufficient funds to: 

- a) maintain the financial viability of the charity in the event of unforeseen and/or unavoidable circumstance that brings a short-term fall in its income; 

- b) to permit the charity, in the interests of meeting its charitable objectives, to from time to time establish a new and innovative project on a project basis to demonstrate the feasibility of such activities as a test to maintaining such projects on an on-going basis. 

For these purposes the charity will endeavour to maintain reserves at a sufficient level as deemed appropriate by the trustees. 

## **5.2 Principal sources of funding and outgoings** 

The key source of income comes from fundraising activities through the year. Members pay a subscription which covers the levies paid to County. 

## **5.3 Remuneration of trustees** 

All trustees act in a voluntary capacity and receive no remuneration or other material benefits from their services to the charity. 

Out-of-pocket expenses necessarily and reasonably incurred by trustees in promoting the purposes of the charity are reimbursed at cost and against receipt only. 

## **5.4 Financial status** 

The charity’s current resources from unrestricted membership subscriptions and annual fundraising activities meet its expenses.  Forecasts are that this will remain the case for the foreseeable future. 

## **5.5 Details of any funds materially in deficit** 

The charity has no funds which are materially in deficit. 

## **5.6 Statutory statements on liabilities** 

The trustees declare that: 

- ➢ The charity has given no guarantees where potential liability under the guarantee is outstanding at the date of this statement ( _eg:_ any outstanding/ongoing contract or legal undertaking to buy or provide specific services). 

- ➢ The charity has no debt outstanding at the date of this statement which is owed and which is secured by an express charge on any assets owned by the charity.

## **6.1 Independent Examiner’s report on the accounts**

## **Responsibilities and basis of the report** 

As the charity trustees you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (‘the Act’). 

I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

## **Independent Examiner’s Statement** 

I have completed my examination. 

I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 

1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

   - The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 Section 133, using the Receipts and Payments basis available to small charities and the charity’s own accounts spreadsheet. 

- b) Salaries & Professional Fees No trustee receives any payments for the services they provide to the charity. In the current financial year the charity employed no staff or external contractors; 

- c) Fixed Assets 

The charity has not purchased or disposed of any fixed assets in the current financial year;
