ChaiVs Report for tha year •ndlng 30th November 2024
Looking back over the last year I feel a real sense of achlevement. The addttlon to the Board of three new
Trustees has undoubtably 8lven us new enthuslasm and Impetus to reffleC( and adjust on our alms and
processes. It h85 been an exdtln& challen8lng and very enloyable year.
The core mission of the CLA Charftable Trust Is to enable the countryside to provlde a place of nurture and
educatlon for people who wlll beneflt most from It but are least able to access It. Today* there Is an awakenlng
of the Importance and value of thls. The everfjrowln8 mental health crlsls rnean5 there Is an even greater need
forthe servlc4s and care from the charltles and or8anlsatl¢Ms that we support at the CL4 Charltable Trust.
I want to extend spedal thanks to the remarkable charltles we fund. You are at the heart of our purpose.
whether supportlng mental heahth, rural educatlon, acce55 to the country51de, or communlty Inltlatlves, your
work tran51orm5 Ilves. We applaud your dedlcatlon and are 50 proud to stand behlnd you.
We contlnue to be oversubscrlbed wlth appllcatlons forgfants, thls year minaglng to support approximatelv
one thlrd of the grants applled for. We asplre to grow our 8lvin8 Potenllal and provlde more one-off support to
Indlvidual thadtle& Green prescrlbin& and the unbellevably nurturlng beneflts of the countryslde. wlll mean
that the domand wlll conlinue to 8row.
Glvlng multlyearfundlng has blg beneflts, so we have contlnued to support and follow the work of four key
charltles, And as a flrst thls year, we have supported an apprentlce worklng at one of the four, Thls, and the
elght scholarshlps we have made to Harper Ad4ms and Aberystwyth univers1￿e$ have *ormed a very clear port
of our educatlonal alms.
Wlth the ever4ncreasln£ need to retaln maxlmum effect￿ene$S, we have begun work on a monltorfn&
evaluation and leamlng pro8ram, to ensure we are as impa¢rful as we Can be, this wlll 8ulde us In ourtuture
declslons.
To be effeL1fve we must contlnue to make best use of our Tesources and Increase our grant makln8. We must
demonstrate the value of the nurturSn8 power of the Countryside.
I wlsh to extend my $4ncere thanks to myfellow trustees. Your skllls, knowledge and dedlcatlon through a full-
on year has ensured the Trust contlnue5 to grow In both strength and reach.
To our donors- thank you. Your support is the cornerstone of our ablllty to make a dlfferEnce. Every
