The Clerk reported to Trustees that the charity continues to provide a house for a curate, when the parish has one, and that at all other times uses the house to provide accommodation at a commercial rent, raising money for the benefit of the parish.
Finance Report

I. Enclosed are the accounts for the year. Last year, as requested by The Trustees, I approached Bob Scarff to examine the accounts and he agreed to do so. He signed them off on 27[th] May 2022.

II. We started the year with a balance of £23,969.07 and finished the year with a balance of £26,399.50, thus a profit of £2,430.43.

III. The most significant event of the year has been getting the asbestos garage roof removed, replaced and properly secure. This job involved repairing the garages of 9 and 10 Bunsty Court, as they could only be dealt with as a pair to ensure they were completely watertight. Trustee Richard Odell dealt with all the negotiations with the tenant, the neighbour, the safe removal of the asbestos and the completion of the project, which has taken years.

IV. The cheque the Clerk issued to Ron Cave roofing Ltd. For £7,680.00 was returned by the bank, with no explanation. To save time and a cash flow problem for the contractors, Trustee Richard Odell paid the bill himself. The clerk then wrote a cheque to Richard Odell ten days later to reimburse him.

V. The Rector asked that the repairs for the parish Rectory CCTV costing £64.80 be paid from this account. The majority of Trustees agreed.

VI. Carters Rentals carried out the mandatory Gas Safety Inspection in April - £95.00. The Property Owners’ Insurance was paid in May - £382.17.

VII. Our tenant was £90.00 in arrears as of 31[st] Dember. Carters Rentals has kept the Clerk updated throughout the year and has a plan with the tenant to repay this debt as soon as possible. The Trustees were content that this sum would be repaid in due course.
The accounts were submitted to Bob Scarff for review and he confirmed that they were in order but noted items iv and v had been accepted by the Trustees.
It was with deep regret that we learnt of the death of Richard Odell. Richard was the last founding Trustee and has served the charity since it was created. Condolences were expressed to his wife, along with sincere thanks for all the work he undertook on behalf of the charity.
