## Overview 

For the year ended 31[st] March 2024 the income received by the Village Hall was £34,586, this was generated predominately from hall hire and fund raising events, grant applications and bank interest. Expenditure for the year amounted to £42,208 including spend on a number of capital items and hall renovations. 

## Grant Funding 

In the year the Village Hall Committee successfully raised £28,387 through a number of Grant applications which has enabled substantial investment in the VH facilities. 

- Royal Country Grant £9,317 :- Purchased new stage curtains, Dishwasher and Storage Container. Total spent £9,582 (£265 contributed from VH Reserves). 

- Devon CC Grant £8,800 :- Refurbishment of VH toilets. Total spent £13,843 (£5,043 contributed from VH Reserves).

## Fundraising Events 

During the year the Village Hall held several fundraising events, most in conjunction with Friends of All Hallows and benefitting both parties. Events including the Coronation (partially funded), Hog Roast, the Dog Show, Christmas Party, the Pantomime, Quiz Night raised just over £3,400 and generated profits of £1,137. 

## Hall Hire & Other Income 

Hall Hire and Walk & Talk have generated £1,643. Electric box, Kiosk and Sundry income was £186. Interest was £362. 

## Hall Running Costs & Other Expenditure 

Running cost for the hall (Light, Heat, Water & Consumables) amounted to £1,200. Repairs & Maintenance £1,218. Stage extensions £1,889. Website & Subscriptions £420.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended **31/02/2024** . 

**Responsibilities and** As the charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the **basis of report** accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of  the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. 

**Independent** I have completed my examination.  I confirm that no material matters have **examiner's statement** come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect: 

- the accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; or 

- the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or 

- the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination. 

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
