Chair's Report incorporating the Treasurer's Report ~ Friends of Coldfall Primary th School- Year ended 5 September 2025 AGM date.. 25 September 2025 The Chair thanked each Committee member for their hard work and ideas over the past year and formally welcomed new members to the Committee. The Head and Deputy Head were thanked for attending; as was the Chair of the Governors. ectives and ublic benefit Purpose and activities: The Friends support Coldfall Primary School through fundraising and volunteer engagement. Public benefit: Funding prioritises items and activities that benefit pupils, and support for educational resources and enrichment. These activities align with the charity's aim to enhance pupils, educational experience and are delivered in collaboration with the school. Summa ofke activities and achievements in 2024125 Strong year of community engagement and fundraising, notably: Summer Fair Fireworks (with sponsorship) Introducedlstrengthened volunteer-led initiatives: Christmas Jumper Sale Enhanced event decorations Greater visibility of outcomes after events (e.g., communicating "event X raised £Y") to drive engagement Funding delivered to the school covered regular and specific needs including: Trip subsidies Stationery Model signage OPAL equipment Musical instruments Community gardening Other smaller items Fundraisin and events Principal fundraising events: Summer Fair and Fireworks (including sponsorship). Intention to continue these major income-generating events alongside the newer events.
Grants and support provided Funding to the school in 2024125 totalled £20,143, applied to the categories listed above. Partnerships and community engagement Ongoing collaboration with school leadership and staff. Engagement of the parent community through volunteer recruitment, year-group representation, and small regular tasks (e.g. Costcorresco purchasing, sponsorship outreach). Sponsorship and potential in-kind support from local businesses were discussed and encouraged, including leveraging parent connections. Impact Trip subsidies help ensure affordability and equal access for pupils. Funding for equipment and resources (e.g., OPAL equipment, musical instruments) supports pupils, leaming and enrichment. Enhanced event communications aim to build transparency and increase volunteer participation. Structure overnance and mana ement Govemance: A revised constitution was approved and adopted at the AGM. The Chair asked the Headmaster to appoint a Friends of Coldfall Teacher from the teaching faculty the role of whom is to be principle liaison with the FOC Committee. The Head agreed to appoint such and let the Committee know who it is as soon as possible. The Chair asked the Chair of Governors to appoint a Friends of Coldfall Govemor; the Chair of Governors agreed to identify a suitable candidate and let the Committee know who it is as soon as possible. Proposer/seconder forms were collected in advance for the committee slate; the existing committee was re-elected unopposed by general consent; new members were elected by the Committee and were unopposed. I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 05 / 09 / 2025.
- Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
