## **Treasurers Report 2024**

The accounts for financial year 2023-24 are in the process of being audited.

Our fundraising efforts this year generated £5,222 more income than the last financial year which we are very proud of!

Our Fireworks event was again the biggest profit maker for us this year at £5,159 which is 32% more than our profit on last years event. We increased ticket prices by 50p this year and that, coupled with an increased number of tickets sold, made our ever-popular event even more profitable than before. Contribution of profits from the food vendors made us £225.

The Christmas events this year were made up of Christmas cards designed by the children which raised £854, a cake and craft sale which raised £622, and the Year 6 run Christmas Fair which raised £690.

We decided to run the Christmas hampers differently this year and instead sold raffle tickets with the prizes being the hampers made up from items donated by parents/carers plus some ‘big ticket’ prizes which were donated. This generated an amazing profit of £1,130 and we plan to continue along the raffle theme for future years!

The other big contributor to our fundraising this year was the sponsored run at Easter which raised an amazing £3,431 plus we are able to claim Gift Aid of £818.40. Last years Gift Aid donation wasn’t paid by HMRC due to a ‘mis-communication’ so our £1,448 income from Gift Aid this year is for two years’ worth of sponsorship.

We held our first OPTA School Disco which went down a storm with the children (and teachers!) and raised £781. In another first we ran a ‘Break the Rules’ Day which was embraced fully by all the children, many of whom attempted to break as many rules as possible! This raised £1,083 which we were delighted with.

We also reinstated an adult-only quiz night which was a really fun evening and raised £603.

Our now annual tombola stall at the Ottershaw Village Fete was very popular again this year and we raised £611 at this event.

Ongoing fundraising continued to make a healthy contribution such as:

- Bags2School which raised £622 across the year

- Easy Fundraising & Amazon Smile which made £329 this year

- Cake sales made £277

- Uniform Sales made £602

- Leavers Bears & Books made £97

This brings the total funds raised before contributions to schools to £18,242 which we are all very proud of!

Our payments to the school this year have been £43,113 broken down as:

- Bibles £359 (50% contribution to total cost)

- Mothers Day flowers £100

- Christmas class gifts £1,500

- Coaches for the pantomime trip £2,520

- Christmas lunch crackers £128

- Library book stands £10

- And the beautiful new learning ‘pod’ at the Infants £38,496!

PTA costs this year were £713 – lottery licence, Parentkind membership and subscription for the PTA Events website. We also bought a gazebo for use at the fireworks event and any future outdoor events we may hold.

This leaves unallocated funds of £3,936 at the end August 2024 and we are in discussions with the school around how these funds could be used.

Thank you to all the parents and staff who have helped at events and supported us.
