As the Board ol Trustees, you are responsible for the preparation
of the financial statements.
BASIS OF INDEPENOEKf REPORT.
A review includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a
tomparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration
of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking any explanations from
you as the Board of Trustees, concerning any such malters. The procedures undertaken
do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently
I do not express an audit opinion or the view given by the accounts.

The Board of Trustee5 have pleasure in presenting their report and financial statements
of the Charity for the year ended 31 December 2025
Introduction
The Friend5 of St Michael's Church St Albans Ithe Charity") was founded on
18 March 1980.
Ob ectives and Activities
The objective of the Charity is to help and support the Vicar, Churchwardens and
Parochial Church Council of the Ecclesiastical Parish of St Michael's in St Albans to
maintain, repair, renew, improve and enhance the structure and fabric furnishings,
memorials and fittings of St Michael's and io keep in good order and condition and to
beautify the churchyard of the said churth.
Public benefit
The Trustees of the Charity have had regard to the guidance issued by the
Charity Commission on public benefit.
Activltles Achievemments and Flnancial Review
The Charity's income for the year wa5 £25, 113. This included an anonymou5 donation of
£15,000 The Trustees are truly grateful for this bequest.
Donations of £51,000 were made by the Charity towards the cost of restoration work to
fixtures and fittings.
The Charity has a deficit during the year ended 31 December 2025 of £26,427.
Reserves
As a grant maker without any core cost5 the Charity does not need to hold operational
reserves. The Trustees have resolved that they should hold suffi£iefit reserves to enable
them io respond to appropriateapplicat10115 for financial silPPOrt for the maintenance,
iepair and enhancement of the structure and fabric of Si Michaef5 Church.

The Charity Is a charitèble trust registered with the Charity Commission for
England and Wales.

Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion ol ihe Trustees in
furtherance of the objective5 Qf the chartty.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the
donor or by the appeal of the charity.

Donated income is recognised on a received basis.
