Objectives and aims
The principal activity ol the charty In Ihe year under feview was the promotN)n of dance, physical training
and edu¢alion lor persons of all a9es. whether abk or wrth disabilities. to help them lo develop their physical
mental and Spifltual capacity so they may realise iheir full potential as Individuals and members ol society
and that their condition ol life may be improved through the system of training evolved by Margaret Morris
and known as'margarel Morr15 Movement" I'MMM") and" Movement Therapy" I'MMM Mr'i
Charitable objects
The objects ol the charty are.
To relieve mentally or physically handicapped or Infirm persons by movement therapy according lo
the systems evolved by Margaret Morris and known as "Ma¥gafet Morris Movement"
To conduct research Into the relief ol such pefsons by "Margaret Morr15 Movement" and lo publish the
useful results ol such research
In setting the objectives and planning the aclivrties. the tfustee$ have given serious consideration lo the
Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit and, in particular. the advancement ol health and
well-being

is not a barrier lo attending meetings. The Directors have always been keen to appoint new Directors from
across the MMMI family. and invrtations to join the Board are made the magazine. newsletters. and the
AGM Itself
At the 2024 AGM. MMMI was delighled io wekome a new Difectof. ROS￿ Benson. who kindly a9reed to lake
on the role of minute sec￿13¥y.
The annual Dialogue with the Directors was well allended by rn￿bers and allowed them to learn about and
discuss Ihe work being untlertaken by the Directors
Organisational structure
The Diretlor5 continued lo meel regularly via Teams throughout Ihe year lo review and direct the charity's
administration and developmeni This means that Directors frcKn Germany and SwitzerL4nd can join. and
commillees can work across lime zones
The bookkeeping service has continued to relieve the pressures of fFnanc￿I administration and the continu81
review and streamlining ol accounting prccedures and banking
The Directors are awa￿ of Ihe new procedures lor the EcotN)mic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act
through Company House updates and Sport Govemanee Academy training.
Review of activltles and achlevements
Following the acquisrtion of ihe Internal￿nal A$S￿latIon ol MMM Limited's business in 2015, the ch8rity has
been responsible for organising and running the MMM courses and training and developing Ils teachers
Succession and 8oard Development
Vvith succession planning on the agenda. the Directors speni the year evaluating what was done and by
whom.
It was agreed that the Board needed qualty time to discuss matters and plan for the future. so there was a
Board Away Day. a Ihree-day in -person meeting for board training and strategic planning that anchored the
Ihoughls. dream5, and aspirations of the Difectors and organisation The agenda included the following..
'Saleguarding Training for Directors, delivered by Ann Craft Trust Fr¢)m this ses510n a safeguarding
risk regisler and action plan was produced
'Setting Future Direction and creating a framework lor change, session facilitated by Davky William5
from Creative Help From this session. 8 draft strategic plan was produced.
Digital translorniation and the website
Continuing the legacy work from 2023, the Directors have continued to work on recording the syllabus and
ances so they will be available to teachers in a digrtal fomiat. Alongside this. a digital music library 15 alm051
complete. and the material completed so far wll be available lo teachers via the new website. which will go
live In early 2025.
Courses:
MMMI holds 2 courses a year In the UK. Easter Coufse15 days) al Lilleshall and Summer Schcx)111 weekl at
Chichester University. Teachers and danceFS meet al these courses for education, professional
development, training, and dance.
