GRANTPJIAKING
I grants are made at the discxetion of the Council for the benefit of the College and its members. Vvhen alb¢8ting funds the Counal
gives due weight to any suggest*)ns made by the Cdle9e as to appropriate subjects for assistance.
The trustees confimi that Ihey have referied to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on publ￿ beneffil
vthen revithng the charity's objectives and activities and in the plannin9 of fLrtur& 8¢tivities. It is the judgement of the trustees that
activities in pursuit of the above objectives fully meet the public benefit test, wh￿h they have kept in mind Wi planniig prcgramme8 for
the charity. In delivering services and in Ihe app￿ntment of Ifuslees the charity operates a strict policy of no discrimw)atK)n on any
grounds.
ACHIEVEMENT AND PERFORMANCE

During Ih&yèar the Council continLEd lo recfft support from the members oflhe Friends and Irom olhets assotialed with Peterhouse.
The main grants awarded during the year continued to lurther our focus on studenl wellbeing. Th8$8 included grants lolaling £14,933
to support sludenl hardship and inclusion, as well as to facilitate activities which prornote student eng2gemenl. 8uch 88 yoga and
sludent dinners. They also induded £45,517 towards ihe cost of 8 college counsellor and mental health advisor, continuing our 5UPPOrt
for student ment81 health. Our grants continue lo be responswe to student need. adapting theirfocus based on regular consultation with
the College faculty aThJ student body lo identify new needs and ensure past oranls have resulted in po$ib"vè change.
Investment perf0mla￿e
The ChariVs funds are man8g9d by the Charitys Inveslmenl and Financé Committeewhich is chaired by Jenny Quan and 81so indudes
the Chaimian, the Honorary Treasurer, Ashley Abraham and Christopher Duffett, the fnajoiily of whom have either had SUCGesslul
careers in Finance or are currenuy actnie in investment markets. The active management of the General Fund is undertaken by Evelyn
Partners whose perfoThance is regulady reviewed by Ihe above Comtnittee. The Charity invests its General Fund in equities and its
Medical Fund in other funds $pecific8lly designed for tharities. Gains of £123,357 (2024. £308,816) were rnade during yèar. Inco

STRUCTURE GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT
Thè charity is controlled by ils goveming document, Ihe Memorandum and Articles of Association as adoptsd on 8 July 1995, and
constitutes a limrted company, limited by guarantee. as defined by the Companies Act 20(6.
Recruilment and appowitrnent of new InBtees
The Art￿leS ofAssociation piovidethal the affairs ofthe ¢harity are to be ffl8naged by its Council of Management, and th81 the members
of the Council shall not be less than 8 or more than 16 in number.
The Artides also prov*Ye that members of the Council must be members oflhe Association, and shall be elected either bythe members
of the Assooialion in General lrteeting or by the Council. Al ea¢h Annual General Meeting one third of the members of the Council are
required to retire from office by rotation. but 8re eligible for r&election. The Council may appoinl someone to be a member of the
Council, either lo fill a casual vacancy or as an addition lo the existing membership, and anyone so appointed holds offjce only until Ihe
next Annual Gener81 Meeting, but is éligible for re-election.
Members of the Cwnal are selectèd so as to ènsure fair representation of its diverse membership and the availability to the COU￿11 of
a range of skills most suiled to achieving the effri8nt lun¢tioning of the Association's deliberations and affairs. Risk managemonl the
trustees have a duty to idèntify and review the risks to which the charity is exposed and to ensure appropriate controls are in pla￿ to
provide ￿asonable assurance against Iraud and error.
PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES
The principal activty of the charity in the year under review was the advancement of the educational and other charitable work of
Peterhouse in the University of Cambridge. The charity's spe¢fi¢ 8etivities are demand led, guided by regular consuttation with the
College, and thus can vary year on year. Sludent wellbeing, including a partifjular locus on supporting mènt81 hèalth and on enabling
indusion and access, have constituted a Signifi￿nt portion of our work to date.
The report was prepared in accordance with the sp￿￿al pr¢visions within Part 15 01 the Companies Act 2006.
