committee). The Friends of Dr South’s also approaches

The School makes requests each year and also requests

resources, playground equipment) which requires the
Charity to save money over several years in order to meet

this year is £14,198.02. A significant proportion of
this money (£6,939.99) was raised through the Islip
Big Bike Ride in May 2022. The most profitable
events organised by members of the Charity have
been the sale of Christmas trees (£1,532.25) and the
Quiz Night (£1,557.45). Regular giving to the
Charity’s ‘Sparkle Fund’ has raised £1,444.80 this
year.
The Charity has provided a total of £7,050.41 of
funding to the School during the year – purchasing
valuable resources for use in the classroom as well
as enhancing the School’s extra-curricular offering –
for example by funding whole-school activities during
‘Science Week’.
After almost two years without whole-school shows,
concerts etc (caused by the COVID pandemic), the
funding provided by the Charity to support these has
been particularly valuable – both for the pupils’
learning and development and as opportunities to
foster relationships between staff, parents and others

volunteer-led fundraising events. This year, these
have included May Day and Jubilee celebrations, a

donations to the ‘Sparkle Fund’ and organise a ‘100
