l am enclosing the accounts for the Moors and Coaslal District Scout Council for the year
ended 28th Trebruary 20254 comprising the Receipts and Payments Account, the Statement of
Assets and Liabilities and the Tru5tees' Annua] Report contsining the inforn)ation advised by
you.
Total incomc for the year has exceeded £25,000 and therefore you have an obligation to
submit a set of accounts to the Charity Commission. The disclosures will need to be made on
the Charity Commissions Annual Return fom) and accounts included which l assume you will
deal with, in due course as in prcvious years,
Although the accounts are s¢lf-explanatory to a large extent, I would like to make the
following comments.. .
l. Overall tota] fimd5 available at the year-end were £31,990, a decre&se of £3,690 in the
year. Under your policy staterncnt the Council clairns to hold a sum of at least
£12,000 at any one time, which means that the funds at the end of February 2025 were
just over two and a half times the prescribed "safety level"
2. "lThe receipts have increased a lot this year to £56,386 from £21.583 which is mainly
due to the increase in activities of £9,908 which was expected as you did more
activities as a district this year plus Lamp income of £27,353 which there were nil last
year. As disLuss¢d, things are now turning back to nonnal on activities and camp post
covid.
3. The payments also show an increase to £60,076 from £23,684 last year. This was also
activities and camps, which have increased from by £5,222 and £20,597 respectively.
I have nothing firther to add, but should you require any fijrther infom]ation or explanation
please do not hcsilate to get in touch with me.
Provided the Tn￿teeS are happy with the enclosed Statements I would be grateful if two of
them would please sign at the bottom of the Statement of Assels and LiabilitÈes, and if the
Chairnian would please sign at the foot of the Trustees, Annual Report in section G.
Once the accounts and statements have b¢en approved would you please return those accounts
to me foT my file. I will then send you final copies for the Council's retention as well as the
independent examiner's rcport on the accounts. Please let me know how many copies you
will require, and I will arrang¢ this for you.
