In December 2023 Chambercombe Manor was sold to a private buyer, this was a difficult decision for the trustees, however maintaining Chambercombe had become financially untenable and having taken advice from the charity commission, we sold the property and its contents. The funds however have allowed us to invest in Buzzacott manor and to work towards the original objectives of the trust. As we went into 2024 we started a long overdue extensive refurbishment programme. Work scheduled was the refurbishment of one of the empty rental flats and a new roof. We arranged for builders to commence work in spring 2024. We have engaged with a charity that provides respite care for patients and their families suffering from kidney disease and scheduled meetings to discuss making donations. We restructured our staffing levels at the trust to suit our new working pattern.
