The Trust's function is to support and advance the education of the community in the conservation, protection and improvement of the environment and the local heritage and archelogy with a view to enhancing sustainability

To Advance The Education Of The Public, Both Adults And Children, In The Conservation, Protection And Improvement Of The Physical And Natural Environment By, For Example, Demonstrating And Promoting The Use Of Renewable Energy Technologies. 2. The Restoration, Preservation And Upkeep Of The Fabric Of The Water Mill, Mill Green, Hatfield, Hertfordshire For The Benefit Of The Persons Resident In The District Of Welwyn Hatfield And The Public At Large Such Premises Being Of Historical Architectural And Constructional Interest. (For Details See Clause 1 Of Declaration Of Trust Dated 24th July 1979). 3. The Establishment And Use Of The Water Mill As A Working Museum Open To The Public.
