REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES OF FRIENDS OF ST ALBANS GIRLS SCHOOL The Trustees submit their annual report and financial statements for the 12 months ended 31" lu 2024. ACTIVITIES AND OBJEcllvES The principal activity of the Charity is to raise fund5 for the benefit of the school. The Charitls main source of income is regular donations from parents, as well as social events organised throughout the year. There are currently 5 Trustees who 8150 form the Cornmittee, they are not rnunerated for their setvices. The Charity holds meetings approximately two-three times a term. Further details of our constitution and management are contained in the Charivs trust deed (the constitution). RESULTS FOR THE YEAR The income and expenditure for the year 15 detailed on the Income & Expenditure Accounts on page 8. The resources of the Association and their disposition are set out on the Statement of Assets & Liabilities on pa8e 9. The Trustees consider the result to be satisfactory. REPORT OF ThE TRUSTEES OF FRIENDS OF ST ALBANS GIRLS SCHOOL Continued TRUSfEES (connued) Committee members are elected annually at the Annual General Meetin& in accordance with the constitution. New committee members can also be c(>opted during the year but must be re-elected atthe next AGM. TRusfEES RESPONSIBILTIES The Charivs trustees are responsible for preparing an Income & Expenditure account and a statement of Assets & Liabilities for each financial year that accuratew represent the Charivs receipts and prnents during the year and its assets and Ilabilities at the end of the year. In preparing these statements the trustees are required to- Select Sultable accounting policies and then apply them consiStentW- Make judgements that are reasonable and prudent. Ppare the financial statements on a going-concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which enable them to ensure that the Income & Expenditure account and statement of Assets & Liabilities comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detertion of fraud and other irregularities. AcnvmES AND ACHIEVEMENTS During this financial year, the Committee has been able to run events, including a successful Comedy night and Winter Fair. The PTA Trustees regularly review the m05t effertive ways to increase engagement and connect with the wider parent community. All committee members, parent and teacher volunteers give their time free of charge. often donating other resources too. The funds raised are generated with the minimum possible cost to maximise the amount that can be donated to the school. We try to ensure that all funds raised are spent while the children of the donor5 are still attending the school. We are totally dependent and endlessly grateful to all who give their time, help, energy and money in the achievement of these aims. Page 5 of io
