The Charity’s main source of income is regular donations from parents, as well as social events organised throughout the year. There are currently 5 Trustees who also form the Committee, they are not remunerated for their services. The Charity holds meetings approximately twice a term. Further details of our constitution and management are contained in the Charity’s trust deed (the constitution). ## RESULTS FOR THE YEAR The income and expenditure for the year is detailed on the Income & Expenditure Accounts on page 8. The resources of the Association and their disposition are set out on the Statement of Assets & Liabilities on page 9. New committee members can also be co-opted during the year but must be re-elected at the next AGM. ## TRUSTEES RESPONSIBILTIES The Charity’s trustees are responsible for preparing an Income & Expenditure account and a statement of Assets & Liabilities for each financial year that properly represent the Charity’s receipts and payments during the year and its assets and liabilities at the end of the year. In preparing these statements the trustees are required to: - Select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. - Make judgements that are reasonable and prudent. - Prepare the financial statements on a going-concern basis unless it is inappropriate to presume that the charity will continue in operation. The trustees are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which enable them to ensure that the Income & Expenditure account and statement of Assets & Liabilities comply with the Charities Act 2011. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregularities. ## ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS In recent years the committee has decided to concentrate on running a limited number of events that have proved to be popular and successful. During 2020/2021 the ability to run events has been very limited due to Covid-19 restrictions. All committee members, parent and teacher volunteers give their time free of charge, often donating other resources too. The funds raised are generated with the minimum possible cost to maximise the amount that can be donated to the school. We try to ensure that all funds raised are spent while the children of the donors are still attending the school. We are totally dependent and endlessly grateful to all who give their time, help, energy and money in the achievement of these aims. I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act. ## Independent examiner’s statement I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect: 1. accounting records were not kept in respect of the Trust as required by section 130 of the Act; or 2. the accounts do not accord with those records. I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
