Ravensthorpe Village Hall Annual Report, January 2025

Every year the goals of the Village Hall Management are expressed in the annual plan. In summary, these remain the continued provision of an excellent community building, to attract a wide variety of activities, while generating income for future investment.

In 2024, total income was lower than 2023 and there are several reasons for this. Hall activity was brisk, and we continue to promote a wide variety of activities. Ideally, more of these should come from events led by others, not the hall management.

Notable in 2024 was the income generated by regular activities such as Crafternoon, Table Tennis, Bowling and Morning Coffee, attracting only those who wish to attend on the day.

Our main market continues to be the retired, though we continue to seek more activities to attract the young.

The cash deficit in the year was mainly due to the capital expenditure on the refurbishment of the toilets. On day-to-day operations, the hall achieved a cash surplus. The financial position remains good. It should be noted that some colleagues put an extraordinary amount of time into RVH business. More volunteers are sought to ensure the hall continues its progress into the future.

We were fortunate to have won a “Rose of Northamptonshire” award from the Northamptonshire Community Foundation, (NCF) after being nominated for our activities in serving the local community.

I would like to thank all the Management Team and our regular helpers for their great dedication throughout the year.
