CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS: NACA AGM 22/424

Good Evening Everyone, and welcome.

I would like to mention the objects of the Association, as listed in our constitution which was written in the mid1980s, but which remains relevant in these very different times. “To promote the benefit of the inhabitants of North Ascot and the Neighborhood without distinction of sex, sexual orientation, race, or of political, religious or other opinions, ………in a common effort

to advance education and to provide recreation and leisure-time occupation.”

I think that if some of those founder members were still with us, (apart from Jeff who has been consistent in his support) they would be happy to see that we are still striving to meet those ideals. In an area where we have lost all our local pubs, youth clubs, and the Royal British Legion, this continuity is so vital to this community.

This has only been possible through the support of this committee, the hard work of all the Executive Committee members, particularly Colleen and Sharon. Many thanks to you all and may we continue to provide a warm, welcoming, well-maintained centre to uphold those lofty ideals. Jane Meaney.

## **4. TREASURER’S REPORT**

Welcome to the 2024 AGM

We have a healthy set of accounts with a surplus of £20 812

Hall income has increased by £6170. Insurance increased by £1450

Heating was £449. lower i think this is due to us asking all users to keep the door closed.

Maintenance costs are the normal plumbing, painting and decorating, pat testing, roof repairs and boiler services In addition we had an electrical survey done, re carpeted two rooms and started work on fire regulations.

Accounts accepted proposed by Jeff Wood and seconded by Geoff Paxton.

Terry Wood thanked Colleen and Jane for all their hard work in keeping the community Centre running so well.
