Increasing awareness
Our Family Infortnation Days provide opportunities to lletwork and co-ordinate with healthcare professionals and

The CICRA newsleuer compiled and edited by the trustees and staff. is one of the main vehicles, along with the websAte

Reserves poli¢y
CICRA has no significant secure income. relying almost totally on voluntary contributions, donation5. grants and
nd-raising activities. In consequence the trnstees believe that it i5 C55ential to have 5uffi¢ient fimds to ensure
continutty in the event of a temporary reduction incorne. Th¢ trustees have agreed a policy to hold reserves on
deposit equal to a minirnum of six months operational expenses and covering IoE]g temi commitments. At the end of
2023 we estin)ate these to be £140,(bOa. In addition to this we hav¢ £17,000 of fvnds restricted to specific proje¢ts,
£428,875 for fu￿re research commitme]Jts and we have £140,000 de5igDated for ￿tUre research and supporL We
continuousty ￿VieW our research pmgrll￿llThe lo that we are up to date with CLllTent fmdings.
OUTLOOK
The TNstees are hopefiil that the return to r¢lativ¢ norniality in 2023 in a number of areas will continue. It is apparent
that the tnedical pmfession who support the charity in a number of ways are under increasing dem£LThds.
The Trustees l(M)k forward to 5¢eing the reseaJch grants awarded at the end of 2023 PTogress during 2024.
Aloneside the need to ramp up rese￿ch efforts. the Trustees are oonscious of th¢ need to illGrease CICRA'S support
offering to rncet llnprecedcntcd demand for support from concerned farnilies. 'fhis is being thiven partly by an increase
in prcvalencc, and partly by over-stretched healtbcare services b¢ing unabl¢ to provide the patient support that they
would like to.
The CIC.RA Trustees will continue to review and manage the charity prudently during the cu￿ent cost of living
challenges. They will do all they can to continue gs far as possible with the research and support prognqmmes
planned.. The focus will be to restore the charity's inco]ne and ra￿P up our research. support and awareness efforts.
At the present time the contribution that CICRA makes to the field of paediatric IBD remains as vital as ever. We
believe that the surge in new IBD dia¢moses createg an upyent need for fi]rther research and supwrt, particularly for the
Yery early onset cases which wpear to show a huge increase over recent years
