**Objects:** 1. TO STIMULATE PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 2. TO PROMOTE HIGH STANDARDS OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT. 3. TO SECURE THE PRESERVATION, PROTECTION, DEVELOPMENT AND REPLACEMENT OF FEATURES OF HISTORIC AND PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE AREA OF BENEFIT.

**Activities:** We stimulate public interest in the local area to promote high standards of planning, architecture and environmental quality. We hold public meetings with speakers on topical subjects. We award the Harpenden Society Plaque and environmental certificates for projects which enhance the local environment. We publish a quarterly newsletter. We provide information and advice to local residents.
