## MHSA Treasurer’s Report for Year 2022 - 2023 (ending 31 August 2023)

## **Fundraising events including sponsorship:** 

With 2022 – 2023 being the first full post pandemic year, we were back to our usual busy schedule full of community events. With a mixture of committee members, school staff, parents and volunteers we covered off 14 events, big and small. All our efforts allowed us to raise nearly £25,000. 

Over the last year, we’ve learned that families are starting to shop more with digital devices, so we implemented QR codes at events for smooth and secure payments. 

Here’s a breakdown of our events: 

- Three cake sales with profit totalling nearly £1,300. The 1[st] bake sale of the year was very special, as school council children were asked to select a charity that they would want to donate profits to. It was agreed that the sale profits would be dedicated to Pakistan flood relief- we donated £646 to DEC.ORG on behalf of the school. 

- Six 2[nd] hand uniform sales. Each of these raised on average £60-£70. This might not seem much of a financial benefit, but with cost-of-living crisis and huge focus on sustainability, we strongly believe that uniform sales bring great benefits to our community. 

- Fireworks. It wouldn’t be a normal year without the MHSA fireworks display. As a second biggest event of the year, it raised a profit of £5,500. 

- Winter fair- profit of £4,600. 

- February Disco- profit of £830 

- Jumble trail- profit of £1,000 

- Summer fair- grand finale of the year with magic show, raised an amazing profit of £7,300. 

## Sponsorship: 

- Martyn Gerard continued to offer their support and have given us £2,500 for the advertising boards. 

- One-off donations- we received over £1,700 of generous donations. 

- Your School Lottery raised over £1,200. 

- Legoland trip Funds4Schools donation of £430 

Big thank you to the Japanese committee who between summer and winter fairs helped us raise over £1,800 

With a surplus of fund left over from previous year, we will be donating £27,706 to be shared between the Moss Hall School Federation and Moss Hall Nursery, with the following breakdown: 

- £25,024.77 for the federation (MHJ and MHI) 

- £2,681.23 for the nursery 



The remaining balance will be kept to fund the upcoming events such as the next Fireworks show.
