ensure that all volunteers are treated equarty.
Overview 2024
We presented Macbeth - originally ￿anned ts 2022. The wothKtion vras very $￿ceSSful, in spite of
the dwngeable weather.
BOAT offers talks to local organisations, but swKe ts Pandemic ￿ have ftjund that many of the
societies who would have asked us to give talks have disbanded. In 2024 the tdks c04)rdinator was
invited to visit the newly opened Marjorie House care home. After seemg their outdoor performance
area with a spectacular view of Brownsea IslarKI. sha asked two of the trustees to come along later.
They were equalty thr￿led *ith the look of it 8ThJ ￿1th(￿la$M of the stsff in charge. Sa11y, nothing
has developed so far.
The Natimal Trusvs irrtention to i*vdop a nat￿￿ aM￿ltheatre on Brovmsea Island has been
resurreded. The Trust have also been f￿Ced to rekxmld ther idty at San(*)anks. Coupled with the
ending of the charter to the Company ky0v1￿1ng f@ri￿ to and from the Island, these works have
resulted in BOAT having lo absent ourselves from Brownsea Island byhifsl the works are ongoing - at
least for the 2025 season. Talks with Canf￿1 School, Canf￿d Magna, Wimborne have resulted in
plans for the 2025 production to be held tfrwe.
2024 was the 81st year of BOAT IxwYJing ShakesFvare to Bro￿￿3 Island. BOAT stsrted as a one.
off in 1984 to celebrate Shakespeare's 4(XXh bwttthy

prewously agreed and afthough the lease eXp￿d M 31st Math 2024, the tsholders have mad8 It
clear that they are happy for us to remain. paying the same rent. Works on site are continuing
involving the ￿l(￿Ing up of some or the windovs and re￿Cment of others. These works, still
ongoing, have necessrtated th8 reconfiguration of the Ur*L The costume team are looking forward to
