Trustses. Report
The Trustees present their report arKI the financial statements for the charity
for the year ended 31 March 2024.
Principal Activities
The Charity is established to preserve or assist in the preservation of life and
prevention of injury at sea on the foreshore of the Solent and on the beaches
of the counties of Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
In the furtherance of these activities, but not further or Othe￿iSe, the powers
of the charity are as set out in its constitution.
The accounting policies adopted to further these objectp4es are set out in note
1 to the financial statements. There have been no material changes to these
policies in the year.
Review and Re8uIts
We are gratefijl to local authorities for contributions received during the year;
two local authorities contributed a totsl of £51.600.
We are also grateful for any other donations received.
There were no grants or loans given to beach and sea rescue units in
2023124.
The support we have given to the voluntary beach and sea rescue units
towards their units, running expenses has enabled them to respond to many
incidents during the year.

Responsibilities of the trustees
Law applicable to charities in England and Wales requires the tfustees to
prepare financial statements for each financial year which give a true and fair
view of the charity's financial activtties during the year and of its financial
position at the year end. In preparing these financial statements, the trustees
have needed to..
select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently.,
make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent,.
stste whether applicable accounting standards and statements of
recommended practice have been followed, subject to any departures
disclosed and explained in the financial statements-
prepare the financial statements on the going concern basis unless it is
inappropriate to presume that the charty will continue.
The trustees are responsible for keeping accounting records which disclose
with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the charity and which enable
them to ensure that the financial ststements comply wrth the trust deed. They
are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the charity and hence for
taking reasonable steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other
irregularities.
Management Arrangements
The charity is governed by its trustees.
