The Charity is governed by ils Constrtulion. adopled on 1 March 1975 and amended in
April 1986 and April 1989. The objects ol the Charity are lo advance the Sikh Teligion,
lo relieve poverty and advance education.

The Charity 13 organised under the day-l(Hlay control ol ils management Committee.

Durlng ihe period the management committee camed out a variety of aelivilies in order
ID achieve the objects of the Charity sel out In the Constitution.
Spreading the Gospel Irulh of GUTU Granth Sahib. the Holy Book and
holding congregations to celebrate the Sikh Gurpurbs and preaching and
performing Sikh religious riles and ceremonies. including baptism. funeral
service5 and marriages in accordance with Sikh religious traditions.
Organising public lectures, COnfe￿nCeS and meetings and arranging
religious galhenngs as required by the Sikh communty lo promote Sikhi5rn.
Organi5ing other schemes con81slent with the spirit of Sikh religion an¢J
approved by the members.
Advancing the education of members of this organisation and the host
ommunity concerning good citizenship in a multi-r￿la1 Society and co-
ordinating with other organisalions esiablished lor Ihe atlainmenl ol this
objective

Responslbilities of members of the managemtrnt committèg
The law applicable lo charities in England and Wales (the Charities Act 20111 requires the
management committee lo prepare financial statements for each financial period.
The management committee is responsible lor keeping accounting records which disc1059
with reasonable accuracy the financial position of the Chanty and which enable them lo
ensure that the financial slalemenls comply with ihe Charities Act 2011. They are also
responsible for safegu8rding the assets ol the Charjty and hence for tsking reasonable
steps for thè prevention and detection ol fraud and olher irregularilies.
Risk management & reservos policy
The management committee active￿ review8 Ihe major risk5 wh￿h the charity faces on
regular basis and believos that maintaining reserves al current levels, combined with an
annual review ol the controls ovef key financial systems. will provide sufficient rosources
in the event ol adverse condilK)ns.
11 Is the policy of the Charity lo continue with the nee8$sary regular maintenance and
upkeep of the present buildin9, while accumulating funds surplus to ils operating activities
towards the eventual rebuilding or relocalion costs of the main prayer hall. The amount
held in tho bank 5avin9s account 18 designated as Buildin9 Fund.
The inveslment Strategy is sgt by the management committee, taking into aceounl
anlicipaled demand lor funds.

As the charity's trustees of Guru Nanak Sal Sang Sabha. Maidenhead, you are responsible
for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act
