The Charity is governed ty its ConslitulKJn, adopted on 1 March 1975 and amended in
April 1986 and ￿)ri1 1989. The objects of the Charity are lo advance the Sikh religion,
to relleve povety and advance educatson.
Organl8atlon
The Charity is organised under the daY-l￿daY control of its management committee.
In April 2021, due lo the Covid-19 restrictions. il was agreed that the existing member8
of the management committèo and the Iru8tee$ will contsnue In office until the next
annual general meeting. The committeo was con8181ed of the folkwing members

The impact ol Covid-19 was 8eiK>U$ on the communrty in tem)s of severe restrictions
on the rgligious and s¢xial 8clivilie6 of the charrty during port of the year but the
conditiong are returning lo normal.
The management committee carried out a variety of acb"vrties in order to a¢hieve the
objects of the charity set out in ily constitution".
Spread the Gospel truth of Guru Granlh Sahib and perfomiing Sikh religious
rites and ceremonies, including baptism. Ma￿lageS and funeral services in
aeeordance with Sikh Tel￿lOuS Iradrtions.
Organising public lectures, meetings and Confe￿nceS and arrarvJin9 relwjious
gatherings as required by the Sikh communrty to promote Sikhism.
Advancing the education of Members of this organizalion and thé host
ommunity conGeming good cilrzenship in a multi-racial society and
coordinating with other organvzations established for the attainment of this
objective

The managemonl committee is reswnsibk for keeping a¢covnlin9 r6cords which disc108e
with reasonable accuracy the financial posrtion of the Charity and wh￿h ènable them lo
ensure that the financial sialemenls comply wilh the Charitses Act 2011. They are also
responsible for safeguarding the assets of the Charity and hence for tsking reasonablg
steps for the prevention and detection of fraud and other irregulaiilies.

The Iru31ees followed strictly all reslriclions and guhlelin88 i88uéd by the government for
the places of worship for pievention and control of spread of Covid-19, hence minimizing
any risk lo its members visiting the gur￿ara.
The managèment committee aclivety revw8 the major risks which the Char￿ faces on
regular basis and believes that maintaining reserves al current leve18, combined with an
annual review of the controls over koy financial $y8tem8, will provide 8uffic*nt resources
in the event of adverse conditions.
11 is the policy of th¢ Charity lo continue with the necessary ￿gUlar maintenance of the
present building, while a¢¢umulaling funds surplus to its operating a¢livilies towards the
eventual rebuilding or relocatson Costs of the main prayer hall. The amount held in Ihe
t)ank savings a¢¢ounl 18 clesignaled as Building Fund.
The investment strategy is set by the management committee. taking into account
anli¢ipaled demand for funds.
During the period under review the management
committee implemented a low risk invesbmenl polw and all funds were held in bank
current and deposrt accounts.
Reserves and cash Investrnents polKie8 are both kept under perichjk wiew by the
management committee.

The charity's trustees are responsible lor the preparation of the accounts. The charity'5
trustees consider that an audit is not requi￿ for this period under section 144121 of the
Charities Act 20111.lhe Act'l and that an independent examination is needed.

Charity Commission. An examination Includes a review of the accounting records kept by the

from you as trustees conceming any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not
provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently no opinion is

those matters set out in the statement below.
