INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT to the TRUSTEES of

ISLAMIC ASSOCIATION EASTHAM

for the YEAR ended 31st MARCH 2025

I report on the Accounts of the Charity for the year ended 31st March 2025 as attached.

RESPECTIVE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE TRUSTEES AND THE EXAMINER

The charity's trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 (the Charities Act) and that an independent examination is needed.

It is my responsibility to:

examine the accounts under section 145 of the Charities Act,

• to follow the procedures laid down in the general Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the Charities Act, and

to state whether particular matters have come to my attention.

BASIS OF INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT

My examination was carried out in accordance with general Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts and seeking explanations from the trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently no opinion is given as to whether the accounts present a ‘true and fair’ view, and the report is limited to those matters set out in the statement below.

INDEPENDENT EXAMINER’S REPORT

In connection with my examination, no matter has come to my attention.

1. which gives me reasonable cause to believe that in, any material respect, the requirements: to keep accounting records in accordance with section 130 of the Charities Act; and

2. to prepare accounts which accord with the accounting records and comply with the accounting requirements of the

3. Charities Act have not been met; or

4. to which, in my opinion, attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

REPORT

for the YEAR ended 31st MARCH 2025

The trustees present their report with the Receipts and Payments account for the year ended 31 March 2025.

INTRODUCTION

The Charity, Islamic Association (Eastham) London E6 (working name Madina Masjid), was constituted in 1978 and registered with the Charity Commission for England and Wales on 02 July 1979 (under the Charities Act).

The main activity of the Charity is to promote the Islamic faith and Islamic charitable institution in the United Kingdom and to support, expand and develop institution financially and otherwise. The Charity also provides facilities to Muslims to perform their duties of prayers, organises other religious events and provides basic education about Islam to the young people of the community.

The Trustees and Executive Management Committee this year comprised five members, who were all volunteers and collectively responsible for managing the Charity.

OBJECTIVE FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT

The aim of the Charity is to promote Islamic faith and provide basic education to Muslim about Islam to fulfil their duties. The trustees confirm that they have referred to the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit when reviewing the Trust's aims and objectives and in planning future activities and setting the policies for the year.

RESULTS FOR THE YEAR

The Receipts and Payments Account on page 4 shows net movement in funds for the year of £2,471. Our reserves stand at £90,612 in total.

OUR ACTIVITIES THIS YEAR FOR PUBLIC BENEFIT

Another year completed with activities returned to normal with the Secretary of State for health announcements lifted wearing the masks and social distances. Congregates were delighted as well as the children for the Madrasa of the supplementary school run during the evening. During the holy month of Ramadan, we were able to hold the arrangements for the additional prayers and breaking of the fast throughout the month. However, the congregates were regularly reminded about taking care of themselves and remain indoors for the illnesses they may have to follow up with the doctor guidelines. Due to the number of incidents suffered by the Mosque’s. Our centre has been suffered an incident of most probably some people who are alcoholics and had an argument with them. One of the persons tried to bang his bottle onto the glazed windows. However, no one was injured, and the matter was reported to the police with the images of the CCTV provided to the police. Having cameras installed in the building for the safety and security of the congregates and children of our supplementary school was highly appreciated by the police as well as the media.

ACKNOWLEDGMENT

We are very grateful to our staff members of their efforts and contributions to the smooth running of the centre. In addition to this we would like to thank all the volunteers for volunteering their time at the Madina Masjid. Furthermore, our heart full thanks to all the donors for their financial support throughout the year for the up keeping in smooth running and maintenance of the Islamic Association Eastham Muslim Cultural Centre Madina Masjid. We also wished to extend our thanksgiving to our Trust accountants including their staff members of the preparation of the monthly wages/PAYE systems/ annual accounts and the submission to the appropriate authorities.

We would like to give a special thanks to all the charity's supporters and volunteers, without whom our work would not be possible.
