|Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identfying the diference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its<br>benefciaries and any wider<br>benefts to society as a whole.|Para 1.20|In preparing for and performing its three termly<br>concerts, the society has encouraged its<br>members to learn a challenging and excitng<br>variety of music and given those members<br>exceptonal opportunites to learn from living<br>composers.<br>In each term this year we have organised for the<br>composer of one of the pieces we are<br>performing to meet our members, answer their<br>questons about the piece and the composer’s<br>approach, and learn directly from the composers<br>as to how they would like the choir to perform<br>their piece.<br>Donna Deam joined one of our rehearsals during<br>the autumn term to guide us through her BBC<br>Radio 3 Carol Competton fnalist carol;<br>Mathew Coleridge and Joanna Forbes<br>L’Estrange both ran full day workshops, which<br>we opened to members of the public for their<br>Requiem (in the spring term) and A Season to<br>Sing, based on Vivaldi’s Four Seasons  (in the<br>summer term) respectvely.<br>One atendee stated the Joanna Forbes<br>L’Estrange workshop was “the best day of his<br>life”. The choir not only brings learning, a sense<br>of achievement and pride to its members and<br>the wider community, but also a profound joy.<br>The events brought together other choirs in the<br>local area and expanded our sense of<br>community.<br>Walton Voices has also supported the local<br>community, lending our voices to the Walton<br>Town Centre Armistce Day service; performing<br>in the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, providing<br>entertainment during their open day to raise<br>awareness of the theatre and to raise funds; and<br>collaboratng with the Woking Symphony<br>Orchestra in their performance of the Habanera.<br>All our concerts ofer an incredible opportunity<br>for members to work with a wide range of<br>professional musicians, uplifing their<br>performance and providing musical inspiraton.<br>In order to be accessible to its members,<br>Walton Voices does not require auditons and,|





as well as keeping its standard membership subscriptions at a level lower than those of many similar choirs, offers a reduced rate for couples from the same household, students and those on low incomes. Increasing its beneficial impact on society, during the period, Walton Voices raised over £2,100 for mainly local charities with collections during its concerts.
