Activities
The Civic Society aims to improve the appearance of the area by preserving what is good from the past and by encouraging high standards of design in new buildings. The Society checks and comments on all planning applications which concern listed buildings. It organises a programme of lectures and field trips, helps fund conservation projects and publishes a newsletter three times a year.
Objects: 1. To Stimulate Public Interest In The Area Of Benefit. 2. To Provide High Standards Of Planning And Architecture In Or Affecting The Area Of Benefit. 3. To Secure The Preservation, Protection, Development And Improvement Of Features Of Historic Or Public Interest In The Area Of Benefit.
