The Chrlstian Ren8wal Trust Report of the Trustees forthe year ended 30" September 2023 The Christian Renew81 TrustW8s established by deed dated 19"July 1978 (number 2764961 with the following objects: "The advancement ol the Christian religion, the relief ot the poor 8nd the relief of the sick and the aged in need" The principle objects are achievod by the raising of funds by donation, bequest and subscription from within the Fellowship of Churches of Christ in Great Britain and Ireland and its member churches and providing loans, grants and gifts to member churches of the Fellowship or other Christian establishments or org8nisations in general agreement with the principles of the trust. The said loans. grants or gifts contributing to the public benefit ty: -The provision. upkeep. repair. renovation or enhancement of places of Christi8n worship, education orcommunity outre8ch. For Christian religious education, training and the raising of awareness and understanding of Christian beliefs and practice8. - Supporting churches forthecarryingout of public religious devotional acts such as weddings and funerals. -The catryingout of communityoutre8ch bythe support ofthe poor. sick, infirm and those with disabilities Ènd the needy in the community. - The carrying outof missionaryworkforthe advancementofthe Christian religion Review of actlvlties The Trustees meetten times throughoutthe year in question. There were five primary issues thatoccupied their attention. First, they agreed a grant to help with an Amharic training course for church leaders. Second, they discussed proposals forthe use ofa church building in Erdington. Birmingham and after consideringa range of options theyagreed to attemptthe sale ofthe building. Third, they negotiated the lease of a church building in Bournville. Birmingham with the United Reforrned Church. The intention is to use the buildingto serve the local communlty.

Fourth. they began to explore the issuing of a lease to a church thatwishes to rent8 building in Wigston, Leicester. Fifth, they continued discussions on a merger between the Fellowship of Churches of Christ and Formission College. The trust received donations from the Fellowship of Churches of Christ to help pay for the work of a consultsnt in relation to the developmenta training programme. Thetrustsold shares to the value of £50.000 to facilitate new loans in relation of a manse. A total of £60,000 of loanswere made duringthe year.
