To provide and maintain premises known as ‘’The Kiln, Badshot Leas Village Hall’’, as a venue for hire and use by the community.

## **Charites Activities and Achievements during the year in relation to its objectives:** 

The Trustees continue to hire the village hall and it grounds to clubs, societies and local organisations. Current hirers are longstanding and serve the locality. 

## **Work Planned for the year 2019-2020** 

During the year the Trustees have continued the essential maintenance of the hall and carried out a number of improvements. Some of the planned work was not completed due to the Covid restrictions and the closure of the hall. These items will be carried over to 2020/2021. 

## **Work completed in 2019- 2020 included** : 

- Upgrade of lighting in the main hall 

- Improvement to fire safety on the first floor 

- Renewing signage on the front of the building 

- Improving ventilation in kitchen area 

- Electrical testing for the whole building and completion of remedial work. 

- Update Risk Assessments 

- Provision of mandatory Covid sanitation and signage. 



## **Work Planned for 2020-2021** . 

- Remove trees along the southern boundary of the carpark. 

- Repair damage to carpark caused by the trees. 

- Repair/renew roof to outside toilet area. 

- Refurbish and decorate outside toilet area. 

- Renew all fascia’s and soffits on the building. 

The building is used by a wide range of local clubs and societies when the Covid restrictions allow but was closed completely for a number of months during 2020. The trustees are keen to support new activities on the premises but the hall is very well used and currently running at near full capacity under normal non covid conditions. **Grants** 

We received two grants in 2019-2020: 

£820 for the fire safety improvements on the 1[st] floor. 

- £25,000 from the Government Support Grant. 

**Donations** 

No donations were received this year.

ON THE UNAUDITED FINANCIAL STATEMENTS OF
THE BADSHOT LEA VILLAGE HALL
In accordance with the tenns of our engagement and in order to assist you to fulfil your duties, we have examined the
financial statements of The Badshot Lea Village Hall for the year ended 31 July 2020 which comprise the Income and
Expenditure Account, the Balance Sheet, and the related notes from the accounting records and infonnation and
explanations you have given to us.
This report is made to the Trustees, as a body, in accordance with the terms of our engagement. Our work has been
undertaken so that we might report to the Trustees that we have done so, and state those matters that we have agreed to state
to them in this report and for no other purpose. To the fullest extent pern]itted by law, we do not accept or assume
responsibility to anyone other than the Trustees as a body for this report.
We have carried out this engagement in accordance with technical guidance issued by the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants and have complied with the ethical guidance laid down relating to members undertaking the independent
examination of financial statements.
By approving the Balance Sheet as at 31 July 2020 you have acknowledged your duty to ensure that the Trustees have kept
proper accounting records and to prepare financial statements that give a true and fair view. You consider that The Badshot
Lea Village Hall is exempt from the requirement for an audit for the period.
We hav
not been instructed to carry out an audit of the financial statements. For this reason, we have not verified the
completeness of the accounting records or information and explanations you have given to us and we do not,
