and training to enable them to undertake theirwork.
The Society's affair5 are managed bythe Boaril of Twstees vthith meets on a I￿)nthlY basis to plan
future actwities and consider matters relating to mernber5hip and final￿.
The charlty is not formalty part of a wider network and has no subsodiaries. It does co<Jperate with
other organi5ation5 that have an interest in family and local history.

ANNUAL REVIEW
The Society had another successful year.
The Society has no employees Sn 202012019:Nonel ￿lieS on a number of volunteers to asslst In
its work including the provision of advice via local librarie
At the end of 2020there were 1552 member$12019=15331.
The Soclety only managed to attend one falr and one U3A meeting before l¢xkdown tn March 2020.
After some intern31 testin8 and experimentin& online meetings began in earnest in June 2020 and
have been well attended. and well re￿Ived, by our members. Our Fair wa5 unable to take place In
October 2020. The Society attended one online Fair in November 2020. A notable feature of this
trylng year was the launch of the kniety's new web site wh￿h has been well re￿ived and
commented upon.
MembershSp Is open to all and the services provided by the Society benefit the publlc and Its
understandin8 of genealogy. farnily history and local Oxfordshlre history. The Trustees have
considered this public benefft In accordance wlth the Charity Commission's published 8uidaft¢e under
the Charities Att 2011.
Future plan5 include conUnulnB onllne meetlngs for the benefit of our worldwide membership.
FINANCIAL REVIEW
There was a deflcit of income over expenditure in 2020 of £3.39312019: surplu5 £4,591). Inwme from
Membership and royaltles continued In line with 2019.. the deficit was the result of one-off Items
includin8 donations to oiher pr8anlsaiions and the development ol the website.
Income is derived from three principal sourcÈs'. membership substriplfjons, sales of books, CDS and
other research information, and royakies from other Ofganisations
The Society has ￿serveS as at December 2020 of É299,63912019..£303,0321. This funding Is held to
enable the Society to develop its artivities and to undertake investment in research or improving
5UPPQrt to the membership le.g. Improving the society's website). The reserve5 are invested In a bank
savings account and earned 0.18% interest.
Having considered its reserves and future incomè pr05petts the Tntstees Consider that the Society is a
going concern.

RISKS
The Society revSews rlsks as part of its re8ular meetbng5 and when considering r￿W activities.
The Society is carrying adequate reserve5 to cope with most financial problems suth as a short term
redurtion in membership numbers or less suc￿$Sful events.
The work of the Soc5ety could be disrupted by extemal events (such as a pandemic) and, over a
longer timescale, a shortage of Trustees to continue to lead the Society.

accordance with the requirements of the Charitie5 Act 20111'the Art'l.
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of
the Act and in carrying out my examination I have followed all applicable Directions given by
the Charity Commission under section 145151{b lof the Act.
