Achievements and Perforniance
The trustees thank Rid￿rd Dic¥s Offi￿ its se(Tetsrial support: irxleed. we thank all the
trustees and offi￿r5fOr theiT work over the ￿￿. We are delighted to welcome Mrs Suste
Williams as a trustee: Dr David Parker and Mrs Mary Saunders both retired as trustees dwing the
year and we thank them SIn￿rety fortheir ser¥ice and viisdom over many years.

Sub*riptions re¢eived in the sEar were £3238 to the Friends and £6.660 to The Beauforest
Society.
Donations of £4.344 were received dUringd￿ year.
On the outgolng side, various payments have been made to the PCC duringthe ￿aT. Atotal of
£30.162 was paid tharitsble ￿l¥ltieS mainlyto Dwch*r Ab￿ PCC to support the Abbey
induding a contribution towards the repair ofthe Ablw dt)d¢ and the u*eep of the grounds
indu(fing the herb garden.
There was a ￿ I￿eaSe in the value of (w in%*$t￿nts O￿the year of £L875.
Our reseT¥e5 at the I￿a￿end were made up (l a Desi8nated EmÈr8erty Fabric Fund hol¢fing
£50.1)(lTr. and the Edith Stedman Endowment Fund holthng £5.￿9. The remainingfunds of

Reserves Policy
The trustees ha%* prevIo￿Y agreed to hold £50,(A)O as a Designated Emergew Fabric Fund. The
remaininÈ fvnds are as det•led abo%*.
Going con￿rn
The tharlty bènefits from a regular Income Indudingfrom investments and subscriptions and
having a strong (aiytsl base is well-placed to cover its expendlture. The trustees accordingly
believe that charity is a going concem for at least twelve Tr￿nthS from the date of approving
these accounts and for the foreseeable future.
Risk Management
Since the role of the tharity is to raise f￿d$ for the restiyalion and Tepair of Dorchester Abbey,
the main risk is of substantial decline in the level of donatic￿5 and irKome from investments. The
trustees aim to maintain a level of income tonsistent wKth the a)ticipated needs of the Al￿.
Public Benefit
In exercisi￿ their powers the tn￿ continue to habE due regard to Charity CoMmi￿10n
guidance on puL4ic benefrt published under setti(￿ 17 of the Charities Att 2011. The tn*ees
consider th< in helpingto conserve the fabric of D(the5ter Abbey. as laid out in paragraph one
of Objectives and Activities. the Friends actibryties 5UPPOrt the Abbe)15 ministry and theTrforè
provide publlc benefft accessible to all.
Plans for Future Periods
The trustees intend to continue their PreS￿t pdiues and wartices in the periods ahead.
Responsibilities of the Trustees
The tharvtrfs trustees are responsible for preparing the truste￿ Annual Report and the finanual
ststements in accordan￿ with the appIl￿ble law and regulatlon
The law applicable to charities in E￿and and Wales requlresthe tntsteesto prepare finanaal
statements for each financsal year. Under the law the trustees have elected to prepare the
financial statements in accordance with ￿nanCIal Reporting StaTKlard 102 Tr Financial Reporting
Standard appliiable in the UK and Republic of Irelan(V (FR$ 1021 the Charities SORP 2015
ISORP 20151. The trustees must I￿t approve the financial statements unle5Sthey are satisfied that
they are a trt￿ and fair View of the state of affairs of the charity and the in¢ome and expenditure
of the charityfor that period.
