## **TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT 2023**

No Charity function was held in last 4 years due to problems with Covid Pandemic. The first major fundraising function was held in March, 2023. During the pandemic our supported charity, Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped children in Ranchi, India was able to manage it’s expenses with interest from a corpus fund which our charity has helped to create over the years. Due to rising costs it was considered a necessity to boost this corpus fund with a further fund raising event.

Several Trustee meetings were held to promote a charity event which was held on 4th March, 2023.

The charity event was a grand success and we have collected sufficient funds to support our recipient institution Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped Children in Ranchi, India

In India, now there are new regulations for receiving funds from abroad, which require a registered charity in India to have a FCRA approval before it can receive any funds from abroad. A new account has to be created in State Bank of India in Delhi. An application from our recipient charity Guru Nanak Home for Handicapped children, Ranchi has been submitted and is awaiting approval. Until this approval is received we have deposited most of our funds in an interest bearing account.

Our charity accounts have been prepared and examined and are being submitted to Charity Commission.

## **Independent examiner’s statement**

I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in, any material aspect:

- The accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or

- The accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or

- The accounts did not comply with applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.

I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
