**Objects:** TO PROMOTE THE PERMANENT PRESERVATION FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PUBLIC GENERALLY AND ESPECIALLY THE INHABITANTS OF THE VILLAGE OF CHIPSTEAD IN THE COUNTY OF SURREY OF LANDS AND BUILDINGS OF BEAUTY OR HISTORIC INTEREST AND, AS REGARDS LANDS, OF ECOLOGICAL OR OTHER SCIENTIFIC IMPORTANCE, WITHIN THE SAID VILLAGE, AND GENERALLY TO PROTECT AND PRESERVE THE CHARACTER AND AMENITIES OF THE SAID VILLAGE.
