Ob"ectives and activities
To advance and provide facilities for leisure time occupation in the
interest of social welfare, with the objective of improving the conditions of
life for all residents of Carlton Colville by the provision, maintenance and
management of a Community Centre.
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document
TAR
March 2012

The Community Centre is for the use of the inhabitants of the parish of
Carlton Colville without distinction of Political, Religious or other opinions,
including the use for meetings, lectures and classes and other forms of
recreation and leisure time occupation, with the object of improving the
conditions of life for the said inhabitants.
The Community Centre provides a valuable education and recreational
resource where indoor sports and fitness activities including bowls,
Zumba, yoga, Pilates, line dancing and Fight Klub are run, along with
nostalgic music, a social club for adults with learning difficulties, model
car racing and Slimming World groups.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
An over-subscribed pre-school is run 5 days a week during term-time in
one of the rooms. This provision, along with the outside children's
playground youth's football pitch and toddlers football ensures the
Community Centre has something to offer to enhance physical and
mental well-being across all age groups.

Section D
Achievements and performance
Summary of the main
achievements of the charity
during the year
The charity, through the trustees, has run the Community Centre for the
benefit of local residents. By providing facilities for sporting and fitness
groups local people can meet socially, improving both their physical and
mental well-being.
The provision of space for a local pre-school means local parents do not
have to travel to access such a service. This is particularly relevant
following the closure of the nursery at the local primary school.
Young people from toddler age upward can make use of the sports field
and children's play area.
The Community Centre provides the venue for the annual local
horticultural club show and twice a year is used by a local cycle club to
provide a startlcheck point for long-distance rides.
These activities effectively offer a wide age group a means of
socialisation and physical improvement.

Section E
Financial review
Brief statement of the
charity's policy on reserves
The trustees regularly review the reserves of the charity.
Their policy is to hold enough funds to meet 4 months operating costs of
the centre plus floor renovation costs.
Cash reserves are held in a bank account and any interest accrued is
considered as income.
Details of any funds materially
in deficit
Further financial review details (Optional information)
This financial year has seen income increase as, following efforts by the
trustees and management committee, the centre is used more widely.
The decision to stop children's private parties has been reversed with
effect from September 2025 which will result in greater use of the centre
at weekends.
You may choose to include
additional information, where
relevant about:
the charity's principal
sources of funds (including
any fundraising).
how expenditure has
supported the key objectives
of the charity;
investment policy and
objectives including any
ethical investment policy
adopted.
There have been on-going problems in receiving realistic energy bills
following a change of supplier in early 2025 and as a consequence the
expenditure in relation to energy is very low in comparison to previous
financial years. The trustees have ensured that sufficient funds have
been set aside to cover any backdated charges which may become
payable in the next financial year.
A substantial sum will be ring-fenced as a contribution to the kitchen
refurbishment following a successful grant application. This work will
take
lace durin
the next financial
ear.
