Frieth Village Hall. Charity no 275123
Report of the Trustees for the year ending 31[st] March 2025
The Trustees of Frieth Village Hall present their annual report and accounts for the twelve months ended 31[st] March 2025 and confirm that they comply with the Charities Act 2011 and the Trust Deed.
The following report details a year of unusual and extraordinary activity for which our energetic, efficient and highly professional Management Committee must take great credit. Their record of improvement to and development of what has always been a fine social focus for a thriving village community is exceptional. Income has for the first time exceeded £25,000, a substantial grant and donations have been received for specific projects and major improvements to the Hall have been successfully carried out.
Aims and Purpose
The overall objective of Frieth Village Hall is to provide a facility for the enjoyment of a range of social and cultural activities for the people of Frieth and its surrounding villages. A key feature of this is the development, improvement and maintenance of the building’s fabric.

Structure, Governance and Management
The Trustees provide guidance as appropriate and ensure the actions and activities of the Management Committee follow agreed plans, policies and procedures. It is the responsibility of the Trustees to recruit suitably qualified candidates as Trustees and to ensure that a minimum of three are in post at all times. The Management Committee is elected from residents of Frieth. During this financial year there were four full meetings of the Trustees and the Management Committee, including the Annual General Meeting held on 27[th] November 2024 which was open to members of the public.
Achievement and Performance
Day to day activities in the Hall are managed by the Management Committee, under the overall supervision of the Trustees. Apart from such uses as general village events, children’s parties, lectures, exercise and other classes and groups, the Hall has rented its kitchen for the preparation of lunches for the adjoining Frieth Church of England Primary School, which has added substantially to the charity’s income.
A major feature was improvement to the fabric for which a grant of £14,999 was awarded by Buckinghamshire Council. Also restored, entirely from private donations, was the magnificent Thomas West memorial turret clock which faces over the main road approach to the Hall and has proudly displayed the time to passers-by for 125 years.
The Trustees and Committee will maintain a reserve for future capital expenditure which may include the re-covering of part of the roof.
Public Benefit
The Trustees consider that the improvements to the fabric and facilities available at the Village Hall benefit the community that it serves, as does the use of the kitchen facilities by the village school.
